I find it hard to pick favorites from your gallery. Your paintings have so many ideas and concepts. They are so simple and intricate at the same time...

That's exactly what I'm going for! Exactly. Sometimes I crash and burn, and sometimes I hit the mark. I think this time I got it.

Thanks. Yes, if you ever get the chance to pick up "The Prophet", I really recommend it. It's a beautiful book.

Excellent colors, you have a way with using shades that really capture your eyes.
I am very curious to know how you got that shade of gold on there, it is stunning

Are you ready? I use Gold. I use sheets of Gold Foil that can be purchased at most art stores. However, the suppliers of this foil vary, and some shades are not as nice as others. It is safest to go with 24k gold if you can afford it.
In this piece, I created many layers. I would lay down a layer of gold, give it a glaze of burnt umber and Cadmium red, and when that dried, I would lay down another layer, slowly building depth that maintained the glow of the gold. I shrank the area slowly until I was using pure gold for the centre around the gold plated stone sticking out from the painting.

Wow amazing work, I guess you could say it is a masterpiece made of pure gold I was also wondering about the center piece as it looked like a pearl of some sort.
Thank you for the information and as always keep up the excellent work

i think it would be so nice to have the sun coming througha window like that! my mum used to make lead light and she did some great pieces, this would be perfect because of the thick lines and easy edges.

Thanks, and I really like your quote. It reminds me of that TS Eliot quote:
"We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time."
