Description For icon #painters contest: My Favourite Tale

Used for reference (really inspiring!)

When the Witch disovered Rapunzel's dad in her garden, stealing rapunzel for his pregnant wife.

A looong loooong time ago, I read this story, I think I was seven years old. The book had amazing illustrations and the one that impressed me the most was the one telling this bit. The colour scheme was in blues and purples if I remeber well. I would like to read that book again, but I never knew the name of the artist. It kinda looked like this: [link]

So if anyone know, plese tell me!! Thanks a lot.

watercolours, watercoloured pencils, and white gel pen that did more damage than good.

Thank you, glad you liked it!

May I ask where did you find this link? This is an old dev and all of the sudden, it has 550 + more views in one day. Was it featured somewhere?

Well I (embarressingly) I really do enjoy the images. The real person image caught my eye due to the irish'ness' look of the lady.
As well as learning about darker things than life, maybe my childhood memories of fairy tales from a huge book, which was printed in early 1900's is a good reason to look for other such like art "Jack be nimble Jack be quick".!.!NB : See if you can peruse libraries for such like books. They will take you to never never land if anything could! God Bless......

Oh wow, I really like this, and that ref. is great!
I really love the dark colors you used, those deep purples and greens are not only beautiful, but look great together!

Yes that reference is great, really inspiring.
The colours are "borrowed" form a rapunzel book I saw when I was little and never saw again. The books was beautiful and one image kinda stuck in my head, this scene in particular. I did my own version of course (and I'm pretty sure if I see the book again is not at all like I pictured it) but I got some kind of help from this wonderful insperations.
Glad you liked it!
