Okay the name of the charcoal fixative is Sax True Flow. I have no idea where she got it from.

Yes, charcoal has a tendency to be very messy. When I use it I spray fixitive on after, but I'm always afraid it will run. This picture is amazing

Thank you.
I tried using fixative on charcoal pieces before but it left it spotted and didn't do a very good job. Maybe it was the brand I used but after wards I wasn't interested in working with it anymore. One bad experience really ruined it for me.

this is probably late but back in the days when I was taking classes with charcoal we would use Aquanet

A little: I can't even find our dialogue on the piece's feed.
I'm not sure if I pointed out (whenever this conversation began) but this is pencil, not charcoal and though I think Aquanet would be a decent fixative no matter the medium, I've had bad experiences with sprays sputtering on my work. For about four years I've largely worked with materials where I would not require the use of fixative for that exact reason.

What did you use to create this? It looks like charcoal to me, but I'm probably wrong. It's beautiful no matter what it's made of.

Not charcoal, pencil.
Charcoal would have been too messy.
