Yaaaay I finally got around to working on one of my own OCs again
Here's Rum, having a bit of a lonely moment down by the sea. This is a collab between KenshjnPark and me
He did the lineart ; I edited the sketch a bit (I removed the squirrel, mostly because I haven't decided whether squirrels exist in the world of her story), and colored the lines using this fantastic pencil brush I found: andantonius.deviantart.com/art⦠. Bio: Rum can control water and is capable of tremendous acts of destruction, but she is terminally ill with an autoimmune disease that sometimes afflicts people in the world of the story (this is the reason for the dark circles under her eyes). Rum struggles to ignore the fact that all her vast power means nothing in the face of a body that's falling apart with her inside it. She is a girl who suffers a lot from fear and doubt, and she desperately searches for something to fight for. Sometimes, when she's tired through and through, she just sits and pines for all the things she considers to be out of her reach.

I'm screaming! Okay, not literally. But I did make a rather embarrassing noise upon seeing this piece of art. Oh! My! Gosh! I mean, I always love your art. I really do. But this, this is a whole new level of amazing...her eyes are the first thing I saw in this, they just captured me and it will forever torture me as to HOW you did that. Second, I love, love, love the water. I have no idea how you...but...never...I...ahh, I love it. I'm currently reading the bio as I make this comment and trust me, I can tell that she's sick, and not only from her eyes. Her body language is not only that of one reaching for something she just can't quite grasp, but also of one who is breaking. Not so obviously that she appears to have a humpback or something, but enough that it is noticeable. Honestly, this piece is gorgeous all in all, and I'm again just appalled by your ability to create something so beautiful. I wish I could say something more helpful or intelligent about this, but alas, I'm not that good of an artist, or a critic. So I'll just ramble along through your gallery.(:

I like the coloring style that you used here. I think the colors here are pretty basic but that's what I like about it. Kind of reminds me of the work of Alponse Mucha. I really like how you did the rocks they are really nice shaded. I've been working on painting rocks lately and looking at yours make me want to give it another try.

BTW, Miss Acacia, i'm working on a few Aurora pics, partially as a thank-you for those stamps, and partially because i was going to draw them anyway at some point. Expect them in a couple of weeks at the most!
