A lot of people on the internet who make a lot of mistakes claim to have autism and Asperger's syndrome. These cases are usually self-diagnosed. While thinking that this would get them sympathy from others, it actually makes people who actually have these disorders look bad. Having autism doesn't make you a non-functioning idiot. Having it isn't easy, but with patience and determination, people with autism can live relatively normal and satisfying lives.I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome when I was three. Also, I have never used it as an excuse for my behavior.
So people with Assburgers, don't blame your dumbassery on a disorder, it's all you. Accept the consequences and learn from your mistakes. It's really not that hard and it would piss less people off.

Bout time i found something like this. This happened at my college the pother day when someone sent out rude and inappropriate texts to people in my class, and others, and when approached by the tutors he said he didn't know what he was doing cos he had autism..Β
I thought that to have been stupid, and not an excuse, but he got away with it anyway and people told me that he couldn't help it cos he had autism.. :/ he wasn't even punished, or even told of, for it.

Heh. It's not just on the internet
Everyday my little brother does things to anger me, and when my mom calls him out on it he pulls the "I HAVE AUTISM" card. Whenever he flips out he pulls the "I HAVE AUTISM" card
But when he wants to do something people his age usually can do, but he can't because he fails to listen to anyone, he always goes "BUT I AM A BIG BOY TREAT ME LIKE ONE!"
Goshdangit. Autistic people, pulling the "I HAVE AUTISM" card to get yourself out of trouble is really shitty and shallow. It doesn't get you out of trouble but rather annoys people around you.

To be honest, my elder brother does the same thing. Well, he doesn't pull the card, but my mother always does. Although he also has anger issues as well, and to an extent can't help it, it's still scary when you have someone screaming at you and you can't do anything in your defense because you'll end up on the wrong side of the 'argument'. I kid you not I have had many items thrown at me, been screamed at loads(it doesn't help that I have really sensitive ears), have been left to the extent of tears with straight up fear, and my mother just pulling the austism card.
Again, I understand to an extent he can't help it, I just wish he had the slightest bit of self control and that people would actually back me up when he does something like that, heck, as far as I can remember my dad has been the only one out of my entire family to back me up, and that was like once or twice. It honestly just makes me really scared, If I make the slightest mistake(e.g. saying something wrong or accidentally saying something with the wrong tone of voice) and/or react to something(like getting annoyed and/or crying just because I can't stand repetitive loud noises) it'll just trigger him to get angry. But don't get me wrong, I love my brother a lot, Heck, I love all of my family a lot, I just wish he had a bit of self control(as stated before.)

As said, my brother doesn't pull the card, but he has no reason too seeming he wins every 'argument' we have purely because I'm terrified of what he might do if I do get too defensive.

My brother always runs straight to my mom. He calls me "bitch" "whore" "antisocial brat" and other choice names and never EVER gets called out on it. If I even grumble something under my breath he'll start with "MOOOOOM SHE'S MAKING COMMENTS AGAIIIIIN"
So at the end of the day, you're much better at handling it than me. Because I just can't bring myself to love or even like him, let alone just leave it as "he has autism". It's definetly not as easy as therapists would have you believe, they all spout the same thing: "Just remember that he can't help it, he's autistic". Well that does not work, not for me. It is SO taxing to have an autistic person in the house.
I too am glad to know that I am not alone in most aspects.

my mom's friends little boy, who is practically a brother to me, has very bad autism and he has NEVER done anything where his autism would be used as an excuse.
so autism is definitely not an excuse for bad behavior, considering this child who can barely speak has autism and does NOT act out badly.Β

i find it very offensive when people say that and they actually don't have it because there are people out there that actually have it. i have autism and it's not fun at all, it's very hard to make friends and fit in. they just use that excuse so they could be jerks, yoshiwii1 did it. i can't stand it when people do that. i've met a few people that have it and they are very nice. if this going to keep happening, people won't trust anyone if they actually have it. it angers me when people do that. it's not fair for actually mentally disabled. i don't understand, why can't people grow up?
