Description

If there were words to describe the process of making this character, it would be: back pain. I have seriously never used more energy to make an app But it's done, at least T-T Now to hope I get in...

*If I get the okay from the admin, I will definitely work on his casual clothes as well as some other things I haven't drawn out.

Full body: sta.sh/0qm5a50iiiv
Name: Zhaki Acel
Age: 143 (Appears around 25’s of human age)
Gender: Male
Race: Half-Elf (Wood Elf X Human)
Deity: Atheist
Faction: Dargona (I'm so sorry for spelling error above)
Rank/Occupation: General
Dragon: Does not own a dragon at current.

Family:
{Deceased} Aristair Acel- Father, Human; An adventurer in all aspects, wished to settle down with his wife, Ilyias when they married and to pick up a more home-based job like hunting.

{Alive} Ilyias Julenna- Mother, Wood Elf; An unprejudiced, happy-go-lucky Wood Elf much unlike the stereotypes of her race, the elves. Something to do with her blissful upbringing, she supposed. Had very low IQ, so to speak. Ilyias worked very happily as a blacksmith and loved her husband as much as he loved her.

{Alive} Isane Acel- Brother, Wood Elf; Born into the world much luckier, in Zhaki’s eyes.

{Alive} Barasta Acel- Grandfather, Human; An enigmatic man no one knows much about, not even his son Aristair.

Physical Appearance: As his mother had light tan skin while his father had pale skin, Zhaki has manifested a shade between them and also a porcelain palette from his father. Zhaki has also inherited his mother’s nimble stance and grace, often very light on foot. His eyes are between blue and green; teal, and though his hair may appear black in dark lighting, its true colour is burgundy. He keeps his hair very kempt, bangs held back. He will never tie his hair up to reveal his ears, even during a skirmish unless this is absolutely called for (though the bands on his gauntlet are for this purpose) Otherwise, his hair will be let loose to fall to his shoulders.

Personality:

{Patriotic} {Good Intuition} {Genuine} {Modest} {High-standards} {Reticent} {Low self-esteem} {Insecure} {Self-dissatisfaction}

+Patriotic: To both his job and to helping the people, Zhaki may sometimes be a priest of good will and of aiding the people. He loves charity, content with the regularity of his life in sacrifice for the orphans and those with special needs. On the other side of the coin, his kindness may easily be abused.

+Good Intuition: Hard to explain to others, even harder for himself to understand at times, Zhaki often gets this ringing in his head that tells him what to do. This plays a vital part that works harmoniously with his brains in tactics. This sometimes applies to material situations as well, like which turn to take in a tunnel.

+Genuine: Is rarely able to tell lies, regardless of how the situation might depend on it. The downfall of his part in political issues.

+Modest: Zhaki had to keep his intelligence a secret for a very long time, and now that he is back to it, he is prone to brushing off comments about his expertise.

+/- High standards: A double edged sword, pushing him beyond his limits for faster progression, yet wearing his mentality out and sometime causes deterioration to his much-of-concern health.

-Reticent: Rarely ever talking to anyone, Zhaki prefers to keep to himself only because he’s never had the right environment to grow in when he was a child. Social situations seem to be too much for him and at current, he is thinking of starting small with a dragon companion.

-Low self-esteem: Growing up comparing himself to his brother, he still feels like an insignificant part of the world sometimes.

-Insecure: When pushed out of his comfort zone and into uncharted territories, he will often be very dependent of what he already knows, sticking with facts rather than his sharp intuition—which he simply does not trust.

-Self-dissatisfaction: Despite having gotten better, Zhaki still retains his traits of constantly feeling discontent with himself if his task isn’t done as superbly as he has set himself out in the beginning.

Strengths & Weaknesses (in conjunction with personality):

+Exceptional Strategist

Combining his head and his instincts, Zhaki is very lethal when it comes to deceiving and trapping large-scale enemies. He may at first appear to be completely cornered, but this is a tactic Zhaki often applies in order to turn his opponents arrogant, then with a hidden trump card, wholly turn tables. This only works when it comes to leading large-scale men into battle, however.

+Defender against Injustice

He will stop anyone who attempts to hurt others without a good reason for doing so, often making essential allies this way. Zhaki will warn the punisher to be merciful, even to those who deserve to be punished.

+Knowledge Hodge

Zhaki spends most of his free time reading if not helping out with charity, children and dragons. Due to this, he has an extensive knowledge of the world and attitudes of the different races—including what could provoke and raise affinity of others.

-Irrevocable Avoider

Despite his allies, Zhaki is utterly useless at deepening any connections. Often the people who are his temporary allies will forget about his kindness and do not stay by him for too long.

-Fragile Body

Born with a body lesser in strength as well as endurance, if he is put unarmed in a fist-fight, the higher chances are that he will be beaten to a pulp. His bones are fragile as his muscles are weaker and he is twice as susceptible to permanent injuries that can endanger his life in a whole.

-Not Good Enough? Work Twice as Hard!

Twice, thrice, it doesn’t matter! He does not care how much effort he has to put into something, how many people he might bother or cause to worry, as long as he pulls up his self-worth.

Equipment:

1) A very long, black bow with yellow-silver markings and a set of white arrows.

2)A narrow blowing pipe kept hidden between his outer and inner clothes and darts to go along with them.

Zhaki much prefers quick kills over brute strength. If he can find the stock (alternatively, if he can afford them), he would meld his weapons (more often his darts) with variable strengths and types of poison.

Armor: As his strength leaves a lot to be desired, Zhaki’s armor mainly consists of leather; so that he can move around at efficient speed. In order to defend his weak body against stronger enemies, he required stronger guards (His reaction slows down if he has to handle both an offensive and defensive weapon). He then equipped himself with separate arm and leg guards.

Zhaki does not usually need anything that takes up too much space, hence only carries small bags around his belt to store herbs and basic necessities in case he were hurt. Due to being thieved in the past, Zhaki no longer keeps his money in his bags. He keeps them stashed in a pouch within his arm gauntlet.

Accessories:
Zhaki has an accessory that hangs down from his ear (not through a piercing) which is very intricate in design; a hand-me-down from his mother. (His brother was given one similar in design, but was a bracelet)

History:

Happiness…discovery.

Birth

Everything starts somewhere, and for Zhaki, it started abruptly on a rainy autumn morning, his father wrapping him in makeshift leaves and tending to his wife, while Zhaki’s older exploded with questions about his new younger sibling. The name of the baby would be Zhaki Acel, of purity and nobility, they had ideally hoped. Just like any other creation of life, Zhaki’s birth brought happiness to the small family living in depths of the kingdom of Lhuin.

Unfortunately, this happiness was very short-lived. Not a few months after Zhaki was born, Ilyias began to realize something was different about their child. The first sign was the shape of his ears—with ears not as pointed as a Wood Elf, nor as round as a human, it baffled her to no end. Hurriedly asking her husband, it seemed she had not been imagining anything either. They spent the next few days pondering, constantly checking on the shape of his ears as if they would suddenly change, but they both knew in their hearts that there was only one answer to this. An answer that they were unable to face up to.

Insignia

Child

Despite how they avoided the sign, as Zhaki grew older, he haunted the both of them with yet another dangerous sign of a mix: staggering intelligence. Zhaki, despite being scholarly enough, was not at the minimum age required to go to school. His brother would leave him rather bored as he spent his time in the afternoon, sometimes with his mother at home while sometimes with his father. He would ask them why he had such a brittle body—the reason his mother disagreed to take him out, what was outside their little home, why father had to hunt animals, why mother brought metal back and forbade the siblings from touching them—questions no one could answer without allowing his mind to form more questions. Zhaki, a tremendously inquisitive being, had hunger that could only be fed by books. He devoured his brother’s school books, craving more knowledge about the world. His parents dismissed this as curiosity—not intellect.

Not for long, however. Just knowing was boring Zhaki as he became more mature. He started craved something more. Something more…competitive. Puzzles. Anagrams. Riddles. His boredom was eradicated when those things came to his life. He far outdid his Wood Elf brother in thinking and solving problems, and those puzzles eventually evolved to war strategies he would debate over with his parents. Despite the couple’s musing and discussions behind the scenes, in front of Zhaki, however, he was well praised for his amazing capabilities to think. In this way, Zhaki harvested a special contentment for his intellect. He felt that, when compared to his brother, it was something his lack of physical strength and unfortunately frailer body could make up for.

Bully of a Half Blooded Mongrel

Teen (Early)

Zhaki’s parents didn’t get the chance to tell him about this before he first enrolled in school. The teachers knew what his ears meant and were warned earlier by Zhaki’s parents in hopes that they would be given less attention. Being so bright his age made him infamous among his peers, beginning with a bearable green of envy, but evolving into some sort of dangerous jealousy. Before school ended one day, when Zhaki’s classmates heard a discussion among the teachers regarding Zhaki, they instantly took advantage of this, calling Zhaki the Half Blooded Mongrel. Being fragile could not be any worse when Zhaki questions their claims of him being some sort of mongrel, and the lot turns violent. Though punches were not life-threatening in any manner, had the fight not been broken up by Zhaki’s brother, Zhaki could have sustained worse injuries. Zhaki didn’t want his parents to worry, but the couple had already arrived early enough to witness the scene of their poor child attacked by his classmates.

Evidently, his parents felt it was too dangerous to have Zhaki back there. Soon enough, they decided to have him sent to another school. Zhaki asked his parents more about this half-blood term his classmates had used on him, and after much pestering, they finally told him that he was not human nor elf, but in between. In this way, Zhaki could already understand that what he needed to do, if he were to continue schooling, was to stay behind the scenes. He would not be able to stand out and furthermore, keep the one thing he had ever been good at hidden permanently. Without his intelligence, he felt that nothing was left of him, and with this, his self-worth began to recede. He was nothing more than a weak boy, with no hope for athletics, and even less for academics.

His family did everything they could, yet nothing changed his perspective of being useless. In years, he felt so horridly isolated from society, questioning his curse and his brother’s luck. His bother grew up to be a very popular, sporty boy, loved by his classmates as a really outgoing Wood Elf just like his mother, and Zhaki was prone to comparing himself with him. It was all because he was a half. A half elf, and he would never be complete.

Teen (Late)

The death of his human father due to age was yet another tragedy for the young Half-Elf, and equally so for his family. Despite not being of fault to time, Zhaki felt that if he had only done something else—though he didn’t know what exactly—his father would not have suffered this fate. The funeral held sought attention from Zhaki’s grandfather, a pioneer who had remained unseen by Aristair for so long. His knowledge of the world knew instantly of Zhaki’s state when they first met, and as a favor to the son he had rarely attended, Zhaki’s mysterious grandfather decided to take him away from the family in order to make use of his intellect—the right way.

Zhaki didn’t have it easy at first. His grandfather was the strictest of mentors he had ever met, pushing not only his mind but his physical ability as well, believing that if he were to move on from his extreme insecurity, he would have to work for it. He never connected much with his grandfather either, but he would show in some moments that he cared more than simply advancing Zhaki’s skills.

Current

After starting slow and rather rusty, with Zhaki’s hard work and a timespan of many years, he managed to get a position as a general for a faction known as Dargona. It was on his day of ascension that his grandfather vanished, leaving with him the last words on the day before that he would have to use all he learned from him for justice and justice only. His acts of kindness would not be forgotten by Zhaki, who would never have risen from grieving over his father’s death.

At the moment Zhaki is repenting for his past by sending some of his earnings to his family anonymously, supporting his mother despite their distance. As for his brother, however, there has been no word of him yet, but rumors are, of the Wood Elf joining allegiance with the Shadar.

Interesting Extra Info:

LOVE- Plants and nature in a whole. Being surrounded by tranquil wildlife rejuvenates him, even in the darkest of times.

LIKE- Anything to do with strategizing, tactics and warfare in general.

LIKE- Trapping an opposite player who’s intellect stirs the deeper mechanisms of his mind.

LIKE- Listening to tales of greatness of his grandfather Barasta.

DISLIKE- His half elf past is long behind him. Bringing back those days may cause serious problems to not just people around him, but more importantly to himself. *Conversations about half elves make him very uncomfortable*

DISLIKE- People who tarnish Barasta’s reputation in any way, or likewise, insult him.

DISLIKE- Those who are incompetent in strategizing yet always pester to go against him in games.

DISLIKE-The reason he has grown his hair long is to hide his half elf half human ears. If anyone were to find out, he would be very staggered and flee immediately.

MISC- In the past, Zhaki was fearful of dragon eggs simply because of dejection. As of now, though, the thought of having a companion may be making him reconsider…

GOOD PERK- Works very diligently in his job, sometimes overtime simply because he enjoys the task.

BAD PERK- Zhaki is often fearful of socializing due to the same reason why he is fearful of getting a dragon.

BAD PERK- Due to his rather fragile state, he may require help if travelling through dangerous terrain (another reason to get a companion)

Relationships:

Love

Crush/ love interest

Friends

Acquaintance

Dislike

Despise

Like-hate (May evolve into despise, or possibly....)

Roleplay Example:

(To master chess players: I may not be a chess player but I know this is ridiculous eue)

For a brief moment, he glanced at the broad smirk of his opponent's before sliding across the checkered board on the tabletop, across his pool of fallen pawns and assets. He surveyed their field: on the other side, five pieces, of black knights and rooks, his opponent's king well guarded by his queen. And his own? Two scattered bishops and a king, both in enemy territory. He was well outmatched against the new vicar, and that was evident.

"Now, now, general. What do we have here?" The Dusk Elf, not much older than his competitor, craned his finger over one of his knights and proceeded to knock a bishop down, shifting comfortably back on the ivy-entangled balcony chair as he pushed the fallen piece off the board. "I think this is about wrapped up, don't you?" Each piece that the earl knocked down retrieved him more confidence, more arrogance, more unawareness.

"Indeed, sire," His competitor spoke in a quiet voice that resonated throughout the glass house, engulfed in gardens of greenery that brought much tranquility to the general. "The conclusion is drawing close; I hope you don't mind I finish this-" His slender arm reached forward, at first to his surrounded king, but instead, to the flanks of the board where his forgotten pawn had been. He held the insignificant rounded tip of the piece, and in a multitude of swift movements, retrieved his endangered king. At first his opponent could not understand, and when it dawned on him, his haughtiness vanished- leaving not a vestige. He took the next few minutes to think, and the teal eyes of the other merely awaited.

When the time the earl had left to move a piece was drawing to seconds, he began to panic. Staggered by how his possible moves ended in dead ends, he pulled his bishop backwards and cleaned away his opponent's remaining knight. He felt as if he were in safety for those few moments- but they ebbed soon as the white king moved diagonally forth, and in a whisper of, "Checkmate," the true winner of the game was revealed. It took the Dusk Elf time to recover from the heart-racing moment, and after accepting defeat, his conceit that had been eradicated, returned as respect to the general he had once doubted. Zhaki Acel was his name, they had told him, and as he witnessed himself falling into his trap, he knew- there was much more to this man than he ever let on.

I like him, he's a thinker and a tactician. =]

The only thing that threw me off was his Lineage?

The grandfather was a dark-elf, but sired a human, who then mated with a wood-elf and gave birth to both a wood and dark-elf? Its uncommon for an almost pure human to be born from any pairing with an elf. its also generally considered uncommon for a breeding to give both types of elves regardless of heritage.

Aside from my confusion this app exceeds the requirements needed for the group! Congratulations!
