Description
I thought that it would be neat to release all my future WIPs (work in progress) on a holodeck, so I created one.Makes sense too
What do you think?
(pure 3d no post-editing etc)
2011 remake with higher samplers and resolution, as was requested by someone ; )

If holodecks were real, I don't think most of us would ever leave them.

I could see people ignoring everything in their lives (including work) to play on the holodeck.

Thanks a lot.
It was one of my first vray projects back in the day.
If the plasma physics continue to evolve like they have in the past 10 years then it might be real quite soon (in ~60 years)

lol, life is ironic...
I create a nasty battleship model and it's just OK
then I create a side-project to feature my WiPs (work in progress) in and it gets famous and featured in a magazine (facepalm)
...anyhoo I'm glad you like it.

I can imagine! Worth the wait though I'd say. I look forward to giving it whirl some day.

Superb work on this Voyager era holodeck, and even without post work it looks gorgeous.
If I may ask, by "release" your wips, do you mean you'll just show us images or that you'll actually let people download them? I for one would love to see this made available as a download, or at least some of the components (i.e. arch, wall panels, etc).

I thought to release the full scene. Just haven't got around to it. + I must warn you that for some reason (prolly a lot of reflections) this scene takes ages to render.

Alright m8!! Cool concept and again some wild modelling skills! Perhaps some IES light would even give more atmosphere to it. Also the light-plane line is visible beneath the ceiling right now. Overall- very nice. Respect for not post processing it!!

Wow that's some pretty high parse coming from you.. I'm honored
But ur right about that lightplane, I should have disabled two sided light, it just doesn't look good.
I'll see about IES in the future... I haven't worked with it much, so I'm not too keen on using it. But I'll try some light masking first and when I like how it goes then maybe I'll merge some IES lights in to the scene next time I render something on the holodeck.
-Thnx for input
