Living in the more desolate areas of Caliba had it's challenges but Mari did what she could to raise her child. Alas that the horrors did not remain outside Caliba as she fled from a braying trio of demonic thugs. The howls of demented joy halted when a figure stood between Mari and the group. Bearing the colours of the Templars and comfortably wielding a heavy blade stood a woman, tall, beautiful but for the scars that were etched across her face, bearing a determined glare in her eyes.

Propelled by adrenaline and bravado the thugs moved in to disarm the woman only for two to be effortlessly stuck down, while the third who had held back looked on in terror at the scarred female Templar as she purposely wiped her blade on her ragged tunic. She moved and cut the remaining thug in half. Sister Felicia of the Order of Iluminous, was rarely one to give quarter in such circumstances.

Mari was stunned and thankful for the intervention, she had heard of the scar faced warrior, there had been various rumours about her and her skill with a blade, some of the more scandalously inclined had even suggested she had been mistreated by the Orders former Grand master, who had cruelly marked her and cast her to Citys wastelands before noble Valion assumed the position. Another rumour spoke of a Templar who craved a true challenge and sought out all threats to the city.

Mari was too intimidated to ask the Templar who bowed and confidently walked away into the distance. Instead she held her child and continued on her own way home.
