Just a color sketch I did for fun. I LOVE this comic-- easily in my Top 3 greatest superhero comics of all time, and I'm a pretty critical guy (just ask me a comics question relating to stuff I like/don't like, and behold as I ramble on for days!).make sure you check out the art of the REAL 'vincible Artiste, Ryan Ottley-- His stuff is real pretty.
For a doodle that I cranked out in a few hours, I actually really like how it turned out. A friend of mine said it was "more relaxed" than my usual stuff, and I'll take that happily.

It's called Invincible. It's nearing 90 issues now, and remains my favorite superhero comic ever made. It's so far above and beyond anything else I've read that it's almost a joke - and I've been reading since '87! I cannot possibly recommend this series highly enough; it's the rare book that starts off good, but gets constantly better the longer it goes.

How did I miss this? One of the greatest creations by Kirkman here in your gallery! Nice work! I love the coloring done in this one and sort of the proportions you gave Dick and Eve. From what I see in the comics, Dick seemed a bit too muscular or ripped to the point that every part of his costume revealed a male model's body. And Eve has always been pretty but you gave her a little more realistic look like someone you would actually meet in town. Nice job. I really like this.

I love this couple. And I really like having characters with realistic body shapes who look like actual people. In fact, I actually really prefer the current Atom Eve, who's put on weight and become a little bit chub. She's even more adorable and completely unique in superhero comics! I also agree that Mark shouldn't be drawn as a hulking bodybuilder type. It just isn't him.

At any rate, I really love your rendering of these characters. Mark looks sleek and hardcore. Eve looks like she needs a burger.
Everyone I've talked to says nothing but great stuff about the book. I finally grabbed the first TPB (the staff at my local comics shop excitedly showed off the collected editions). I'll be grabbing the hardcovers soon.

Awesome....I couldn't really appreciate this one as much until I read Volume I. I just sat down and read the whole thing. Couldn't put it down.
I think Eve is my favorite character, although it would be a close tie with Mark. DarkWing was cool too...I think that BiPlane was my favorite villain.

Is there such an earth shattering event in each book? I have to say I wasn't really expecting the thing with Omni Man. I figured something would happen but...
The sequences with War Woman, Dark Wing, and the other guys were great.

Yeah, the stomach is a touch thin. No biggie to me, though - I still like it. And I'm a J. Scott Campbell fanatic-- you oughtta see HIS hip/waist ratios!

Very nice! I bought the first Invicible collection on the advice of the comic store guy, it was good, though I wasn't as blown away as I was led to believe I would be. But apparently it gets really really good later on in the series?

When you say 'first collection' do you mean the first tpb, or the first Hardcover? Because the first tpb is really just laying some groundwork. I highly reccomend the hardcover collections, not only because you get the story in more satisfying chunks, but also because you get reams and reams of bonus sketches and notes. The extra material alone is worth the cost of admission.
So, yeah, stick it out. It really gets good as it rolls along. Some complain of a 'slow patch' around the mid-late 20's, but I was more than satisfied.

Oh yeah- first TPB. I'll check out the hardcovers- maybe my library which has an extensive graphic novel/anime/ comic collection.
