I wanted to focus only on main game regions in this map, because when you start adding a few spin-offs.. you have to decide where to stop (like, including Mystery dungeon maps...or even more obscure and confusing ones like the map from conquest), so I instead didn't include ANY of them xD
But if I had to include any, the Col/XD region of Orre, and the Ranger regions would be the ones I would consider first, because they have at least some compatibility with the main series.

I noticed that Kalos and Galar are physically connected, which might be an unintentional reference to how Britain and France were once connected by a land bridge known as "Doggerland" that was flooded 8,500 years ago.

I figured since Galars shape looks like an upside down England (similar to how Hoenn is about 90 degrees rotated compared to its realworld inspiration of kyushu), it probably doesn't have to be precisely above Kalos.
That, coupled with the fact that Galars map-art is cut away at the bottom side, when there wouldn't really be a reason to do so if it's truly an island, made me think there could be a chance it's not an island.
And of course there is again the whole deal with the unused train station in Kalos that points to the east... I very much like the idea that Galars trains could be connected to those of Kalos... even if it's through another region next to them.

Well most maps of it and the irl location where the cloud covers the game map is a literal tip. Also, in early gens, specifically 1, the poke.kn world is stated to exist alongside real world locations like tiksi russia, guiana south Africa, and there is Lt Surge, the lightning american. Those arnt out of context things from the anime or.manga, its stated explicitly in red and blue. And yellow.
