September 1999 Game Developer magazine featuring the development process of Spyro The Dragon.Also showcases various game development techniques as well as several different types of development software.

Page 42 in the small box in the bottom right-hand corner mentions John Fiorito as having done wireframe models, textures as well as conceptual sketches - maybe it was him? It lists his email... perhaps you can ask him? That is, if he still works for Insomniac. I noticed the email ends in "unistudios.com" so, I'm not sure if he's still under that domain but he may still work for Insomniac and have another email, maybe on Insomniac's web site somewhere.

That picture with Metalhead VS Spyro.....how come that was never used elsewhere? This is my first time seeing that one. Also, I've only seen the photo from the cover art once before too, shame since these are both so beautiful. Is there anywhere I can find them with no magazine words over them?

It's my understanding that editors are supplied with artwork to design the magazines as they please so I'm thinking that this is one of their creations but I don't think one can always be certain of that.
Regarding the cover artwork... I think I've seen it elsewhere, I can't remember where. He doesn't look very comfortable... maybe he has indigestion?
