Oh yeah, backpedaling and screaming "Gold Elite" while you tried to load him up with needles and plasma grenades.
And then he smacks your buddy off the bridge and the plasma grenade explosion kills you when you try to club him in the back.
And he's still alive.

I always thought it was a shame they way these guys were treated in Halo 2, they were really dangerous in Halo: CE but more wimpy in Halo 2.

What do you make of the new Reach Elites, if you've seen them? I missed Zealots in Halo 3, maybe we'll get them, envigorated somehow, with Reach? One can hope.

Yea I've seen them, and in my opinion they've changed them too much for my liking. They're just too cartoony now and not intimidating enough. It's unfortunate, but I'll just have to get over it to enjoy the game.

Well, we've only seen the Multiplayer versions yet, maybe they'll be really intimidating during Campaign? I hope so. I agree about their faces in particular being cartoony. And what happened to those cute big brown eyes?

True. Most sequels never live up to the original. There are rare exceptions (Mass Effect 2 is a personal favourite game of mine and it far surpassed the first one) but in the case of the halo franchise, Combat Evolved is superior in every way.
What I would like to see is an xbox 360 version of Halo 1. Identical in terms of AI programming and geometry, but say, graphically redesigned, like re-doing the textures and so on.
But this is probably me just talking out loud, it's only my own opinions.
