Smallfeather is small for her age, especially in comparison to her larger brother, Sheepcloud. The two are fairly similar in appearance, though her fur length is a bit shorter than her brother's and her colors are more brown. She is primarily white, with light, pale grey-brown fur on the sides of her face and her rump. Her tail and her ears are gradient from a lighter grey-brown to a darker brown. She has dark brown eyebrow markings as well. Her eyes are light blue, and her flesh (pawpads, nose, inner ears) are light pink.

s p i r i t e d } despite her small size, smallfeather doesn't let anything stop her. she isn't afraid of much, and feels even braver with her brother by her side. still, she doesn't let anything frighten her and she's always eager to get into the fray.
t h o u g h t f u l } smallfeather pays very close attention to other people and tries to do her best to help out. she's empathetic with her peers, and prefers being kind than brushing others off.
p r o t e c t i v e } smallfeather is always protective over smaller cats like her, which includes pretty much all apprentices and kits, as well as her brother. this can become annoying because a tiny ball of fluff trying to protect everyone else all the time tends to sort of get in the way.
q u i e t } though she isn't quiet all the time, smallfeather can be rather quiet and introspective. when she's in one of these moods, she tends to isolate and doubt herself, but she bounces back quickly, and if she's really needed, she'll focus on them instead.
n o s y } way past curious, smallfeather can be downright nosy. she likes to poke her nose into everyone's business and she can smell gossip from a mile away.
d e f e n s i v e } though she doesn't usually let much ruffle her feathers, if people doubt her because of her size or any other reason, she can become pretty annoyed by it. she doesn't like being looked down upon and tends to scorn anyone who thinks badly of her--she can hold a grudge about it as well.
History

smallkit and sheepkit were born to blossomshine, and neither kit ever knew their father. their mother told them stories often of how brave and kind he was, and smallkit always admired that about him. bravery was one of the best traits, as far as she was concerned. she liked spending time with her friends, and especially her brother, sheepkit, but constantly looked forward to their apprenticeship.
apprenticeship | 6-14 ☾
during their apprenticeship, smallpaw and sheep-paw grew a bit more distant; smallpaw was always excitable and looking for adventure and exploration. her brother was shyer in that way, and smallpaw didn't always have time to wait for him to catch up--but he had palepaw for a best friend, so she always felt confident that he wasn't alone. after a few moons of training, smallpaw and her mother, blossomshine, both fell ill with greencough. her illness likely stunted her growth, but she survived--which was more than could be said for her mother. she was glad they got to spend the last of her mother's time together, but felt a bit lost without her.
after palepaw was exiled from the clan, smallpaw tried to grow closer to her brother again. she worried about how he would cope with the lose of his best friend when he had just lost his mother recently as well. after a while of training and a rogue attack against her brother, smallpaw and sheep-paw were both made warriors--smallfeather and sheepcloud.
apprenticeship | 14-? ☾
smallfeather has become a warrior alongside her brother, and her time as such has been mostly normal. she spends a lot of time worrying about her brother and trying to stick her nose into his business, as well as everyone else's in the clan. since her brother has received an apprentice, smallfeather herself is looking forward to getting one of her own, eagerly looking forward to recognition from applestar.

Stormstripe glanced at the fresh-kill pile with a small frown. Didn't he and some Clanmates just restock the pile yesterday? Sighing, he got up slowly and stretched, letting a loud yawn slip out of him. Shaking his big, tabby pelt, he adjusted his eyes to the blinding brightness of the snow, then started walking languidly towards the camp entrance to go out on a solo hunt.

There weren't a lot of good things about leaf-bare, but one of the few pros was Smallfeather's pelt. She wasn't completely white, but she was white enough that she was harder to spot when she was sneaking up on prey, and with all the snowfall ShadowClan had had, that was finally a viable skill again! Even though the snow made her shiver, she supposed it wasn't entirely useless. Just as she'd been considering heading out on a hunt herself, Smallfeather spotted a clanmate on his way out of camp, her eyes brightening as she skipped to his side. "Hey Stormstripe," she purred, looking up at him with a smile. "Were you headed out?"

Almost mistaking his pale-furred denmate for an apprentice, Stormstripe stifled a chuckle as he felt her move beside him. Amber eyes unblinking, he looked down at her and nodded slowly. "Yes," he meowed, his deep voice echoing as he neared the tunnel entrance. "The fresh-kill pile looked empty. I wanted to restock it."
Purring slightly, he added; "It seems like all the apprentices are eating everything with fur or feathers, and leaving us warriors with the frogs and lizards."

"I know, right?" Smallfeather agreed, eyes widening suddenly as Stormstripe said what she'd been discussing with Sheepcloud earlier. She was glad it wasn't just herself who thought so! "I only see one or two apprentices take a frog, all the rest go for something else! I mean okay, I know frog and lizard is an acquired taste--but we're ShadowClan! It's time to acquire it! It's gonna be bad news for them when they're stomach is rumbling and that's all that's left! Anyway," she reminded herself, catching herself before she got too far off track. "I'll come with, if you don't mind. I've been sitting around camp feeling useless for too long."

Chuckling lightly as Smallfeather rambled on, Stormstripe nodded again. "I tried to get my previous apprentice to appreciate the taste, but she didn't take well to it." With a flick of his tail in annoyance at the memory of the daydreamy she-cat, the large grey tabby shook his head. "Hopefully I'll receive a more open-minded apprentice some day."
Looking at Smallfeather directly, he smiled gently – glad to have some company in the cold season. "Of course! So how are you? Are things well?"

"Which apprentice was that?" Smallfeather asked, not ashamed to admit that she couldn't remember everything that went on around her--until there was a story. It wasn't much gossip, but it was still some, and her ears perked up immediately. "Was it Ivysong? They're lucky we've been so fortunate with prey! I remember my first leaf-bare there was like... practically only frogs and lizards in the fresh-kill pile because everything else was gone for the winter! Lucky apprentices," she teased, but she didn't mind, really--if she was honest, she loved kids, even if they could have bad habits, like being picky eaters.
"How am I..." Smallfeather repeated thoughtfully, slowly following along beside him as they headed out of the camp. She kept alert for scents, but she was more interested in chatting, really. "I'm all right. Sort of anxious about things with the clan; food, apparently ThunderClan scents on our borders...? And Mapletuft, what's up with that? Not being allowed out of camp or something? There's so much going on lately it's hard to keep up! But how about you, how have you been?"

"Yes, it was Ivysong." Stormstripe answered with another flick of his tufted ears. "I have a new apprentice now though," the large tom added, purring softly. "Spiderpaw – sometimes he's such a negative and pessimistic little tom, but at least he doesn't drive me crazy with a lack of concentration."
Blushing gently as he thought about Amberwing's kit, Stormstripe looked forward to mentoring the young cat, and couldn't wait for him to become a warrior already. He hoped he wouldn't let Amberwing down. Ruffling his pelt, he meowed: "Maybe I'm just getting old, but my apprentices days were like that too. I've gotten used to the bitterness and sliminess of some of the less popular choices of prey in the Clan, and I don't really mind either, but it would be nice to eat something with fur instead of scales."
He rolled his eyes at Smallfeather's mention of ThunderClan. "Those cats need a reality check. Didn't one of them die on the Thunderpath a quarter moon ago? You'd think they'd know better."
