We've skipped some time;
Leaf hasn't really left her home/room in that time. She had her pokemon in their pokeballs because she was too scared to let them out and face them. John has gone to see her and Danny after work nearly every day.
And after trying to convince Leaf to let her team out and it would be okay, ended up actually taking them back to the Ranger base where, at least, they weren't locked in their pokeballs (which is bad for pokemon). They don't appreciate it though.
Jetta especially. X'D
And yeah, part of Leaf's problem right now is not knowing when her dad is just going to leave and not come back. Which is why she's keeping a guarded distance.

Wow, the expressions in this update are really spot-on, like when John sees Leaf sleeping on his couch and when Leaf sees Max. They've just fantastic, wow!
Geez, these two. I'm really glad that we haven't had to see too much awkward development in their relationship. Since most of it happens off-screen it's really nice to just kinda see where it's going without as much strain.
Like everyone else, I have to ask about Max's butterfly pattern! What made you decide on that? 8D It was apparently a good decision, since everyone's mentioned it~

And the slightly longer hair really suits Leaf, such a pretty girl!

I totally missed the "2 months later" bit when I first started, and I sat there wondering if I had forgotten this argument she was talking about.
Sam saying that Jetta is planning a murder spree and John's perfectly serious, "They miss you and I've received death threats," made me cackle. It doesn't surprise me at all that Leaf's Pokemon miss their trainer and want to be back with her.
The design for Salamence is absolutely gorgeous - love the butterfly-like wings! (Okay, I realise they're still dragon wings, but they have beautiful butterfly-like designs.)
And that final panel got me right in the heart! The family is back together and HUGGING!
