Description
Before the implementation of the Plastech Girls, there were predecessors that served aboard ships of the line. These were androids, and
most were given a distinctively feminine style and look. Though their skin did not look like human skin (in fact they had clear plastic
over metal skin), they had a well formed female figure. It was due to this that these crew members were programmed to wear uniforms,
and were give hair to make them look at least a bit less cold and calculating.

Their programming also included the mannerisms of human females, but those were exaggerated to a degree; emulating the exaggerated
movements of runway models rather than normal everyday women. This proved to be a source of ridicule toward these robots, as well
as their designers.

These androids were meant to serve on board ships of military and civilian organizations as laborers; performing jobs such as
maintenance and repair, heavy lifting, cooking, cleaning, etc.

Someone had also thought it best to give them simulated emotions and personalities. This proved to be a big failure though, as it was
hard to determine what types of things were needed to trigger an appropriate emotional response. The personalities being used were
given to multiple androids, and soon became easy to recognize, because they were too rigid in their parameters, and the numbers of the
androids far outnumbered the amount of personality programs.

Still even with all their shortcomings, they were able to provide excellent service aboard the ships they were assigned to. In the entire
history of these androids, there was never even one that did not do what it was assigned to do, and there were only 5 out of well over
10,000,000 of them that ever broke down completely; and this was due to the hazardous nature of the jobs they had been assigned to
do.
