That's right! Not one, not two, BUT THREE fun pics to celebrate Independence Day here in the US! Hoping you all can have a happy 4th (holiday or otherwise)!

So, I had quite a few small sketches (2, actually) laying in my work notebook, and I didn't want them to go to waste. So what's one to do but tie them together with a patriotic holiday theme?

-The retro army pic was the oldest one (sketched in the early spring) and was inspired by the recent Captain America movie. The WW2/40's era look really suited Alison well here, and Goof makes for a competent general as well! Coming from a family with 2 grandfathers who served in this war, do remember the sacrifice involved in one's freedom.

-The ultra-patriotic propaganda piece with Veronica/Miss America was sketched more recently (about a month ago around the same time and in reaction to this pic: [link] , my conservative conscience wouldn't forgive me without balancing both sides out after all!). Veronica may not be the most loveable Kickline character, but even she knows how to blend in with the crowd and show some flashy support, and I do love her for that brashness that some people thumb their noses at!

-The right and most recent pic (done completely on the 3rd) is a much more general, friendly and fun-oriented pic Candy and Chelsea celetrating the 4th with some fireworks. Inspired by recent works of both and with the idea of fireworks, I wanted to try my hand at the firework effect and the night lighting effect. I enjoyed this quick n simple gesture of sometimes dropping the attitude that divides and enjoy the moment.

So there you have it! Three mini-pics for the space of one big one! Happy 4th of July everyone!
