I found this image very striking when I first saw it. The look on the face and the fact that it isn't symmetric is perfect. You don't make artwork to the way you think it should look but to the way it does look. I hope this makes sense. The face seems to look upset. You would wonder why considering the child is playing a game. I remember that game myself from when I was young. The yellow string stands out as much as the face does putting a link between the two. All round beautiful but almost eery also.

First of all, the piece has a nice emphasis of the subject. The color scheme of contrasting colors brings out the child more, and the concept is really fitting. I like the negative space adding to the brightness of the colors, while the foreground still has a nice contrast. Where the figure isn't rendered down to the torso, actually adds to the image with your stylistic drips. The yellow used in the child's hand and adding light washes of yellow in the skin makes the piece come together in a unifying way. I love the hightlights in the hair of shape fading into the negative space. This is a very beautiful developed piece.

first of all, the negative space i think is just masterfully utilized. its like the child is appearing through the translucent space that is the nonexistence. Coming into being as a morphed semblance of her own structure in her own dimension. Just as she is playing with the building shapes of structures, the substance of her own function is bleeding into the scene, really beautifully done. There is just so much detail, and expression going on here, but something i liked best, is you really get caught up in the features, and the blue of the face, which then comes down to more of a reveal as you see the colors that you are losing into the whole all dripping down below. fantastic work, and great imagery.

I was showing your art to everyone in my art class. Even my teacher was intrigued! You really are a inspiration. I watched some of your speedpaints the other day and I'm still like... how. Anyways, this is my favorite out of your recent works. I feel like the little girl is sad and wants to show people "the game of making structures" but no one wants to listen...

I don't know how I could ever begin to critique someone so talented. You have such a grasp of the medium, and passion of the storytelling in color and negative space. (I'm trying to sound like I'm important...who knows?)
All I know is how I feel. And when I look at this painting, I want to cry. I feel pain and sarrow and fear in the reds and blues and in the flow of the paint. I feel neclect and constraint, in the bright colored string. Like no one pays attention to her or something is controlling her or holding her back. A young girl tangled in the pitalls of adolesence.
It is beautifully painful, and I can relate.

I am humbled and truely admire you as an artist, and I want this painting, but if I had to change anything, it would be to bring the hands closer to the viewer. It may add a bit more drama to the string, as well as pull the viewer deeper into the piece.
But as far as I'm conserned, a work of art is successful when the viewer can somehow feel a piece themself in it. It is something that I hope to achieve myself. And something that I see in this and alot of your work.

Thankyou for the honor of letting me say something, and more importantly, THANKYOU for sharing your gift... You inspire me.

if i were you id add a little bit more to this peice it seems like its still incomplete in a way. but anyways I LOVE YOUR ART!!!! i just think u should keep working on this one and finish it up a little bit on the left side. or is there some type of symbolism with partially incomplete or fading away that ur trying to display?
