Fanart is interesting. It seems to get more attention because people can type in key words to find it. I would have never found your page if it weren't for your fanart.
I think people like fanart because they already have an investment in those characters, but they want to see new possibilities or dimensions of those characters. That's fine, but it can be dangerous for an artist to become a slave of a borrowed, already created world if they want to explore their own.

I have contemplated this many times. I usually just do fan art for fun, for myself just for kicks. But I know Deviant Artist that milk that cow dry, I don't think I'm one of them but it sure does help out every now and again.
I quietly burn up inside every time I get a fav or comment on my Balthier fan art, it is so ugly yet people love it the most. If I do more it'll just be for shits and giggles then I'll end up hating it eventually. Thanks for this chat though : ) it was fun.

I always hated the old resident evil games, they gave me a lot of nightmares as a kid. [Especially the first one with the Chick-cop and the other guy looking for his sister,

You'd only deserve it if you:
1. acknowledge that its very reminiscent of Resident evil
2. the figure in the hall way is in fact, a zombie.

Legs are a little skinny but other than that, it's epic win
The curvature, inconsistent wall lines and shading are all perfect, good job (i think you deserve more than an A-)
