Finally got The Protomen's first two CDs. They blew my mind.

For those who don't know about them, they're rock opera group that retells the story of Megaman set in a dystopian 1984 meets Megaman future.

But do you need to know about the Megaman universe to enjoy them? Not really. They use the characters and personalities, but little else. So... Just listen to them already- [link]

Anyway, I looked through DA to see what other people came up with in terms of art for the band and I noticed a good chunk of pixel art. Well- most were just darker recolors of NES sprites. The spriter inside me shuddered and I just had to make the robo brothers in a style that would fit the hell on earth vibe The Protomen use in their lyrics.

Both are based off the album art. So Protoman (the guy in red) rocks a poncho, an arm mounted Gatling gun, and triangular shield. Megaman (dude in blue) struts around with a long coat and a blaster. My personal favorite is Proto- he just turned out nice.

Made using true NES colors, color limitations (4- three colors and transparency), in MSpaint with a mouse.
