Description
you know, i had a weird half-dream-half-day dream...well, dont know how to explain it xD Bits of the idea came from a dream i had a bit ago and i just expanded on it in my free time.
I had a dream that I got into a terrible car crash and landed in the hospital and was shocked into a state of comatose. I was then thrown into my own mind, waking up in a completely white field of slowly spinning black wheels and gears [which is what semi-inspired the last drawing in here: ] In essence, it was my own sub-conscious/imagination.
In there I met my muse Averus, who told me that he had caused the car crash. I asked him why, and more importantly -how-, if I made him up. After that, the dream gets fuzzy and i dont remember exactly what happened.
So, here's how I flled in the gaps:
All of the characters I had ever thought of/created -- i didnt exactly create them. The universe that I thought of [you can see the lay out of it HERE: [link] ] Actually existed. Averus then chose to reveal the universe to me and then every character within that universe did the same -- when i "created a new character", they actually just let me know that they really existed. Whenever i thought of a new piece of background information or a new plot for said character, it was actually just that character telling me what happened in their lives. I figured that everyone had this power, this sort of telepathic connections to these universes, and everyone had a choice how to express these "true ideas" through drawing or writing, or maybe they wouldn't share them at all. In essence, all of us are just sort of...transcribers -- to tell their stories to our world.
I hope i didn;t lose anyone with all of that LOL. its hard to explain. alsoooo, dont get the idea that i believe this is actually how life works LMAO. which, re-reading this, it sounds like thats what im saying. but this is just the set up for the story/ video game plot im about to tell you.
Now, if you understand that, lets move on.
I asked Averus how/why that was possible. He told me the same exact thing I explained to you before. Apparently, the boundaries that separated my mind to the universe i was connected to was growing dangerously thin, so thin that Averus was able to affect our world and cause the car crash that shocked me into my own mind -- or really, it shocked me into the universe I was connected to. He explained that he had to do so in order to warn me of a terrible threat. Skye had grown aware of the fact that the said boundaries were growing thin, and was using the opportunity to break his way into our world.
Though, in order to do that, he had to enter the gate that lead into the fifth plane, Rashia, to get to the gate that lead to [what I've dubbed] the Monochrome Clock Works [or the giant white space with the black gears that me and Averus stood in], to get to the gate that lead out into our world that only appeared when the boundaries grew thin. Unfortunately for Skye though, Averus used up the last of his power to chain up the gate that lead into the clock works from Rashia.
Annoyed by this, Skye could only bide his time until Averus' power faded, thus breaking the chains and allowing Skye to enter. In his free time, he began a total conquest over the seasons plane and the world of the asleep, making sure to secure those gates to make sure that no one could enter the fourth plane -- or his world -- known simply as "the other world".
The key for the world of the asleep's gate was hidden in seasons plane, and the season's planes key was hidden in the world of the asleep Needing both keys to enter any gate that lead into the Other World was to be a fail-safe plan with the above design, but --what Skye didn't know is that Averus had nabbed the key that unlocked the Season's plane gate before Skye had sealed it off completely.
After all of this is explained, Averus hands me the key to the seasons plane and tells me i have to go and find the keeper of the key, destroy him/her/it, go to the other world, do the same, enter the other world through either gate and put a stop to Skye's plans before its too late. Of course, picking up help from any major ocs i meet along the way. Skye's minions which range from little inky, tary blobs with eyes to iron-clad soliders to behemoth shadow dragons litter all three worlds that My crew and me have to go through and fight. [i kind of imagine it a tales of symphonia/the abyss/vesperia game play -- you run into shadowy monsters on the world map and then get thrown into a battle with a party of 4-6 characters against how many enemies etc etc. you know what i mean if youve played the games]
theres a ton moer twists and turns that i thought of, but...i think i've rambled on enough for now xD; I can imagine the end of the game/story hitting a climactic final battle of me and my chars fighting a boss battle between skye in the Monochrome Clock Works, just feet away from the gate that leads to our world thats now completely free to enter with Averus' power drained, but my and my guys.gals pull through and defeat him, sending skye into the depths of the Clock Works forever. [again, see the last picture here: ] I wake up from the coma im in in our world, about...probably a week or so later. I figure time in that universe would flow differently than ours. Relieved its all over, i plan to tell the world one day about what happened, probably through a "fantasy fiction" novel. I look over out of the window to see the sun setting, filling the room with an orange glow. On a branch of a tree that rests right by the window sits a single crow with white eyes that seem like their spinning and dripping. With a shrieking caw it flies off in a flurry or inky feathers and the screen cuts to black, playing the credits, and making the player second guess themselves as to if Skye really got out into our world in the end -- open end for a possible equal? Probably not.
and jesus christ, if you read all of this and...even if you only half understood, I LOVE YOU. SO MUCH.
Above is a mock-up of one of those concept art pictures where you see a bunch of the video games characters all piled up together in one epic thing with the main character all like "FJSDK RAWR" and then head shots of some of the supporting characters branching out somehow.
Did....Did i mention that i have a pastel rainbow arm blade as a weapon LOL. sheeooot, all of those colors would just slice away at Skye's minions.
Oh -- also, forgot to mention. the "MAD WORLD" sign down is a tribute to a very old project of mine that had a similar concept...ish. I still use the orange horns and smiley face symbol a lot.

Of course it's not sane, nor realistic to most, but It sounds interesting to her and many others, and I, and I'm sure others, have had many similar ideas on the subject~ By the subject I mean by our imagination, and where our ideas come from. I think her take; that when she thinks of something; somewhere it becomes true, is more so creative and not insane. It would be insane I suppose if she , or another, went searching for the planes/worlds and fully thought that they are real.
Though that's just my opinion. Thank you for telling me yours~

So I was waiting for my roommate to finish getting ready to go to a cocktail party, and had just happened to stumble into your live stream.
So, being as fascinated as I am in the process of improving the ability to draw, I watched it for awhile until we had to go.
I saw all the way up to the part where you had finished the boy with black wings before I had to go, and I comandeered the computer in the living room at the party to continue watching until you had finished inking the creepy boy above him.
Really love your style, and the way that you draw. Your lineart comes off very confident when watching. It was really lovely, I'm quite upset that I didn't get to see the whole thing.
:3
TLDNR: Got to see the live show. It was awesome seeing you draw.

I think the style is holding me back from liking this too much. The thought is cool, commonplace, but hey it works!
Just... nngh... I think your generic anime style and goth/punk(?) looking characters are kinda a turn away. :\ Least for me. Your construction of it overall is superb for your age [lulz even though I shouldn't be old enough myself to say that orz] especially the shading, imo.
And just coming from experience, though I don't know you well enough to really be able to tell, I think you could really benefit from taking a slight break from generic anime style without giving it up totally, and explore other types of styles. ESPECIALLY drawing from life; not semi-realism and making things up in your head that seem right, but actually drawing real people, real anatomy.
Also studying American comic and cartoon styles (like Teen Titans or Ben 10 ) can probably help diversify your art. Even if you don't switch styles, you can still learn a lot regardless from something other than anime. And it may be your thing and what you like, but you should spruce up your design pool for your characters! I guess you like the horror genre (always fun) but exclusively manic, demonic, etc. gothic characters can get boring after a while, hon
This isn't meant to sound patronizing, but I find that with the extremely widespread Japanese art culture, more and more young artists, of which I have been most certainly included, lose key aspects of real art to manga and anime. It's such a mainstream thing now, while many ignore the masters and the other kinds of awesome art styles. This is only a sort of C&C, and again not meant to be patronizing or bashing; only suggestions that you have the potential to really benefit from with your talent.

Nice little collect of headshots - it does remind me of a video game concept art picture. Skye looks like the evil overlord, and Kroix looks the guardian angel looking over the protagonist, which in this case, would be you. :>

Great work as always. If your characters got integrated into a video game, I'd totally buy it and the side merchandise.
Putting that aside, I've always thought there was something to these alternate universe theories. In my opinion, when a person thinks of an original world, they become the "God" of that world and it continues to grow, even if the god forgets about it. Their thoughts about it become the other dimension and any major thoughts about the subject become life-changing events in that dimension.
