I don't think I was ever as dissapointed with a drawing as I am with this one... and were it not for 's help, this pic would have been a compleet desaster... so thanks Kylee for your patiance and help...ANyways, the story, well, Draghi likes to fly and wanted to go flying with his master after seying other dragon riders ( ever since he grw up and became so big and strong, there were pretious little games he could pllay with his master... and he needed some activity that they could do togheter... riding was the answere )... Jhon was not sure about it... but reluctantly agreed... Once up in the air, Draghi was very happy about it... but then he spoted a bird and began playfully chasing it all over the sky, forgeting all about his master wich was strapped to the saddle on his back... and he gave him quite a ride, that he would not forget very soon... and it would also be almost an entire season B4 Jon would agree to go flying with his dragon again... Of course after this little stund Draghi will be very sorry for his actions...

well... that's how predatores are like... they are intrigure by moovement... they are curious and try to catch it... after that instinctivelly they would try to eat it... so yeah... if he would manage to catch it he probaboy would eventually eat it... though he's not thinking of eating it at the moment...

freedome... if you were a dragon, I doubt freedome wouldcaractherise what you would feal...
Now, if you were to transform in to a dragon after beying human, then freedome might work... but for a dragon it's common place...
It would be like a human screaming freedome when he's walking down the orad ( even though he has done that all his life... )

Imagination certantly dosen't seem to have any limits... but if one wants a fantasy that is at least close to beying belivable, he must set some restrictions and base it on something real.... on some cold, hard facts...
That's how I have built my story and my characters...

Iยดve writen over 330 pages worh of info about my books world (12 books in total).
And the harhs facts are not appearance or race. All have souls anyhow... In my book harsh rules and facts concers as much with magic as with morals too. All beings like dragons and humans have moral rules and are subject to many (althoug not to all) goods and evils. Just as to all emotions... anger.. love... hate... joy... sorrow... greed... pity... and so on.
If you were a dragon, that wouldnt make the differance. But what you do.
+ some dragons are wilder in spirit but have intelligence. The fact someone is dragon or human or anything else matter only in fysical... my book concetrates more about whats in soul and hearth.

I've been experimenting with wrighting as well... I know not how many pages I have written as I never had the couriosity to count them, ut the numer rests in the hundreads none the less... however I dropped it a few years ago ecause I didn't like the way it was going and decided to take a reak from it... maye someday I will begin again...
My story, as one can see from the drawings that depict it, mainly centeres on depicting what a "normal" life would be for some characthers set in their own world... none are heroes, and none are set to do great heroic tasks or save the world or any such thing... they just live their lives and try to face the prolems that it throws at them... be it peace or war... The emphasis is how obviously on the friendship of an elf and the dragon he raised from hatching... and goes through bolth the hardships and joyes that come from having a dragon, for bolth the owner and the dragon... but it's not limited to just that... for wich reason my story isn't really all that interesting...
In my story, dragons range from very whise and inteligent all the way to the oposite end of the spectrum to dragons wich are no smarter then an ortinary woulf for example... the main dragon character is situated somewere in between...

I find that dragon-human relationships aren't really competible... depending mostly how you see dragons as...

Ahhh... i understand totally.
We all have our OWN wiews and stories. Stories are only boring when the 'reader' doest like themselves... I dont think your ideas are bad. 
Well in my book, humans are tied to many dragon kinds (not all but most). Since dragons have a common ancestrol (spiritually) with humans. Elves in my book stand as combination of human and spirit/druid beings.

in my view, elves and humans have no common biological root... elves having een around far longer then humans on an evolutionary basis... they are a compleetly different race ( as in, elves do not belong to the homo sapiens species )... nor do any other races have anything in common with the other, with small exceptions... like the dark elves are cousins of the surface elves, but they resent it...
As for dragons, they stand in a class of their own... casually refeared to as Draconians ( they are nor reptiles, nor mammles )...
My story dose not venture too much in the land of magic and spirituality... as in, there's very little magic to begin with, and it has no emphasis on religion ( as such no ties with spirituality )... I like to present my characters in as realistic a fathion as possile... with their strenghts and weekneses, fears and joies... For example my main elven character has a phobia of K9s and my dragon character hates faeries or anything that looks like them... none of them have magical poweres, or supernatural capailities and bolth bruise just as easelly as you or me... you get what I mean...
and in my ook, racial matteres are quite important... as the elven people end up in a conflict with humans, as well as the traditionall orcs... and are not in the est of relations with the dwarven people ( rock eatters ) either... likevhise, the dwarven people also don't really swallow the elven folk ( tree huggers ) and have a particular dislieking for the orcs, even more then other races... orcs on the other hand are agressive towards everyody inclouding themselves...
but to face the onslought of the orcs, the dwarven people will have to ally with the elves in order to push them back, but when humans enter the equation, prolems will arhise...
If there were no racial differences there would e no excuse ofr a main plot, and thouse the action of the sotry... the typical bad guy persone who wants to rule the world is so overrated...
As for the reason for all the repplying... you can call it simple boordome...

Very impressive work! I love the dragon, the anatomy is believable and the wings are great. All the minute textural details really bring out the forms. My only crit would be that in flight, the wing membranes ought to be stretched upward from the wind, rather than hanging beneath the fingers.

anatomy tip, make the wings ''thicker'' that way theres more surface with makes flying more...plausible? i can show you sometime if im not making any sense (it's like four in the morning where im at)
i love your pencil work. i like how you did the wings otherwise. the background is like...amazing. i wouldn't (obviously) have the patience for that. really wonderful piece of work here.

I know what it feels like to have a picture that you thought might turn out really good, then to feel like you've done no good with it. That happens all the time to me, and yeah, it's so so frustrating. I think you may have coloured the sky too dark in this picture, but it could very well be the scan also.
You know, if you compare this work with a picture you drew in July 2006: [link] , the improvement is obvious.
By the way, what are you working on at the moment?
