Description
This had to be done quickly before the TV adaptation of "Game of Thrones" starts in a few days and everybody's perception of the characters will forever be influenced by how the actors look.

So, George R.R. Martin's classic fantasy saga "A Song of Ice and Fire". A series of books which I unfortunately cannot like whole-heartedly, because despite a thrilling, meticulously crafted plot and scores of intriguing characters, there are too many things I have serious issues with - most of all the unnecessarily graphic violence and pointless gratitious sex scenes (I know, it's the convention in the genre of classic/high fantasy, which is exactly why I usually stick to urban fantasy, but still!)

However, I enjoy the fandom a lot and there are a few characters I really care about and want to know how their stories end, so I'll keep reading~. It's only three more books, however at the pace they're being published, I'm not sure I'll be able to read the last one before retirement XDD

2) Although they sometimes annoy the hell out of me, especially when they start wallowing in selfpity (Except for Podric, he never does that. He's the single most likeable character in all the books!! <3)

3) Despite my totally missing that when I read the book, only the fandom made me realise. What's wrong with my gay-dar lately??

10) There's too much killing going on in these books already, so let's just send all the horrible people far, far away...
