Description Decided to make this into a series of sorts cause I got at least three more things to put in that are sorta similar...just need to get the pictures of them...

Made this just last night. Started to make a card house and making angles with setting it up, and somehow it turned into that!
Was going to take it down right away, but fortunately someone had a camera to take a picture! Yay!

On a side note, on the right is my computer...a Gateway tablet PC laptop. The kind with the swivel screen and the pen that can be used as a mouse...lots o fun indeed...

EDIT: I THINK card houses fit into papercraft, yes?

Try making one out of "Magic: the Gathering" cards. Much more frustrating.

Yep, I find stacking things fun and relaxing.
Thanks for the favorite.

This is awesome! It must have taken a fair bit of patience.

Do you prefer to use brand new cards for this sort of thing, or used ones?

Old cards. My family is a bunch of card fanatics and there are plenty of partial decks to use.

Haha, my family is like that too. When I go places with my mom and we have a lot of free time, I often end up acquiring another deck of cards, because we'll invariably have both forgotten to bring one for just such cases.

I too prefer to build with old cards, though I have to admit there's a much bigger sense of accomplishment (for me) if I manage to build something with brand new cards.

And without bending them. Quite difficult to do so.

I never have a precise idea when I make them either. For some reason I can't make them any higher than perhaps 3 stories.

Ever have amp?
That just tastes like green jello with pixie sticks mushed into it...

patrx In reply to akaderyl [2004-11-08 20:25:02 +0000 UTC]

Nope...haven't heard about that one... Loved the pixie stix when I was a kid. Used to raid the jello at home, too. Before the pixie stix, us kids used to buy the presweetened kool-aid when it was on sale for a nickel and eat it right out of the package....the same thing with jello. Was tastey... I remember thaht we even made jello sandwiches spreading the jello powder on buttered bread and folding it over. Kids eat the darnedest stuff....LOL.

Yeah...remember peanut butter and bannanas?
AND "ants on a log" (celery, peanut butter, and raisins).

patrx In reply to akaderyl [2004-11-09 16:07:00 +0000 UTC]

Yup! But we also put fresh from the garden leaf lettuce and mayo on the peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Yum!! Been a long time since I've had one, though.

LOL...but it was good...I remember when I worked in the food service at college, I got quite the reactions when I made one.... So, I said "Try it, you'll like it!" .... and they did....LOL It didn't take long before a lot of them were eating the sandwich...

Awesome work. I tried to something like this, except I couldn't get the darn cards to balance, and when I finally did, someone decided to be cruel and blow some wind my way. Lol

Great work though.

In a health class in like 7th or 8th grade I was making cardhouses out of magic cards...that was TOUGH!
Couldn't bend them to make it eaiser to stand up cause they werent mine, but I somehow got two stories on it while answering review questions for the test that was to be taken the next day. Then the female whom shall remain nameless that sat next to me kept blowing it down, but ah well...

super-mel-101 In reply to akaderyl [2004-09-29 04:44:04 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. It takes a lot of talent to be able to balance the cards properly. You do have a good talent there though.
