Description Here is my first try on a clock. Not so bad, but not good enough to be worth selling ( I think).

It learned me three things :
- I need to use brighter color, even if I have to paint it with acrylic and use something to darker not the surface (that let the carving bright), but darker the carving so the surface is brighter.
- I need stamps for the numbers to make them perfect.
- I need to found better mecanism. This one isn't good, it's bad quality stuff. I can't sold a 80€ clock with a mecanism that is wrong of one or two minutes per day. Better sold it at 90 or 100€, but with a good mecanism.

If anyone knows where I can buy good mecanism, please let me know.

Fully handmade. Please comment.
Thanks in advance for faving and adding.

If I were you I would not buy mechanism, go to local supermarket and buy a cheap clock for 2-3 euro and then take it appart to get the mechanism (it is very easy, take of or break the front, remove the hands, then remove the back bit), I have always found these clocks work fine. It is very good work though , I like it very much. And a little suggestion maybe avoid a bright red hand next time, it looks a little out of place.

Just a suggestion, but I would not use roman numerals. I think you could use any symbol in place of it and people could figure out the time from the hands. Dragons don't strike me as romans. I might use something from Tolkien. Otherwise i think you are on the right track. Good work.

The way I see it (being a leather worker) The first attempt at making a type of item is Always a test and a learning curve. I agree with the different tones of colour, because you have included embossed designs, it needs to be visually differential (bright or uniform dark colours). I agree with wanting to make the numbers perfect. However, if you can not find stamps, take your time with a ruler and draw some perfectly, or find a template.. A good tip, and something that I often do when I am trying to create different designs. I take an image that I like and resize it to fit like I need it to.. You can do this with the Numbers and use it as a stencil/template. As fr the mechanism, I don't know much, but it is good to pay a little more and get better quality.

In general. Its a good try, I'm sure that you will perfect it on the next one
Good luck

Yeah I already use template, like for the dragon. But I need to get practice with hand-carving for simple thing. That will come with times.

I think the next one will be worth selling, if I found out better mechanism.

You might want to put a nice finishing coat on top for a nice esthetic effect. If you already did, you can add more. Or I suggest using a *Neutral* shoe polish.
