THe New Zealand carries 22 phaser banks, the modification was made by the request of the Chief Tactical as well as the Chief Engineer.There are others, which has 20, the most forward phaser bank (dorsal and ventral), were not added.

Now when you say 22 phaser banks, do you mean 22 pairsย of phaser emitters or 22 individual phaser emitters?

Pairs. I thought bank means 1 pair, 2 emitters.

That's what it's supposed to mean, but I've seen the mistake made more than once elsewhere.ย

I am guessing the confusing could have came from the phaser bank on the torpedo pod. They are single emitters, but I considered them to be in pair.
