Description This is for use in a blog that will be going up on on how to plan stories

This in a excerpt from the plot line that I wrote for Tease and how I planned things out. This is just to demonstrate ONE method and how I (me and myself) plan out a story.

THIS IS HOW I DO IT! PLEASE DO NOT BE OFFENDED IF THIS IS NOT THE WAY YOU DO IT.

A. This is eventually what the chapter name became. Sometimes I knew the name of the chapter before and there were times I struggled with the name. It usually became clear after the chapter was filled in.

B. I would update major changes and put the date of them in the header of my outline. As you can see, I had a solid idea of where I was going in the story since 2009.

C. Why is this red? This meant to me that I was done that chapter. Putting in the title of the chapters as well. My incomplete chapters were in black and I would change the colour for my purposes only. Mark things as you see fit!

You will notice that a chapter was started by a sentence. A simple statement. It means a lot to me, but may not to anyone else. I was able to move from there and keep on going. If you need more detail ... add it. It can be in point form or if you need to sketch out a scene.

Add all the detail that you need.

Can you believe that I wrote 6000 word chapters based on a sentence. My brain works in mysterious ways. I wonder sometimes if it is functioning at all.

I had more detail in the ending chapters summaries, but I am not willing to put that up as that is the ending of the story, and even though it has been out for awhile now, I don't want to have to many spoilers out there for those that have not read it.

Hope that this is somewhat helpful for your writing needs.

If I could even being to outline a story instead of tackling it head on with no idea on where I'm going, kind of like a brain damaged linebacker, I would be an awesome author. However, I get bored SO quickly with even the best things, I can't take the time to plan it out. So then I get bored right in the middle. Then I stop. Then I just want to be done with it. Then I finish it in, like, 3 more chapters. Then it sucks. Then it goes in the trash bin on my toolbar. Because by now I've learned not to start posting on FanFiction until I know I'm not going to take on bipolar personality characteristics. -.-'

It takes some practice and patience. I do get distracted quite a bit, so I have the points of reference.

You need to be happy with the story. Really be happy with it.

You can start with a premise and then sketch out from there if that helps you.

Mmmm... Okay. That actually sounds like it could work for me. Somehow I write more consistently during school, probably because I use anything and everything possible to procrastinate on homework... Wow, I think I might have a problem. Is there a Procrastinators Anonymous? D:

But yeah, thanks for the advice I'll try it out and let you know!
