Description
This is probably the first non-anime related drawing I've done. While the characters here are drawn in anime-style, the series this poster is for is called The Following. It's a show on Fox, every Monday at 9 p.m., starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy as the main characters. BEST. DAMN. SHOW. EVER. It is the very definition of a thriller. I've never loved a regular show as much as I loved anime before but this show is scary, unpredictable, psychotic, heart-stopping, and just downright amazing. Here's a picture of the characters I drew, Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) and Joe Carrol (James Purefoy) : [link]
Brief plot of show (taken from Wikidpedia): The series follows a former FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of a network of serial killers, where a diabolical serial killer uses his charisma and the Internet to create the network. In Entertainment Weekly, features TV writer Melissa Maerz wrote in a preview article, "Purefoy plays Joe Carroll, a former college professor who taught the works of Edgar Allen Poe and killed young women in the gothic hero's honor—until he got caught. Since then he's been spending hours on a computer in the prison library, building a social network of copycat killers who hang on his every command. When the series begins, he's just escaped from death row with help from those followers, and the FBI calls in former agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon)—who brought down Joe the first time—to consult on the case".
Throughout the recent episodes, Joe begins to use his followers to torture Ryan both mentally and physically. Not only does the series follow Ryan and Joe's "story" but it follows the lives of Joe's followers and Ryan's friends.

Anyways, that's about it. I love this show so much, I might do more works of the characters. Of course, I'll always draw it anime-style since that's how I work. And frankly, this show would make a damn good anime xD
And once again, I apologize for the poor quality of the pic. Once I get a scanner, I'll reupload it.

All I can say about the season finale - all psychotic logistics and character developments led to a pretty F'd up, but relatively appropriate quote circa the time of Shakespeare bewtween the FBI and the cult:
"Defy us once, FBI, shame on you. Defy us twice... and you really DO deserve death."
(Ironically, Joe perfectly played a very well-veiled psychotic background message that really hit square in the feels [and nads] of every major character and viewer - It was either Joe's way or the highway [square into the pits of Hell]. With every deviation any opposition took to attempt to stop Joe, the cult and the killings it sent messages of how 'advantage is everything'; from the moment Ryan stopped Joe's murder spree he effectively signed his proverbial death warrant (meaning - Joe: "I own you now, you whorish little puppet of a man.) It almost made the affair, in the emotional scheme of things, less like it actually mattered and more of a weapon to stab someone with. If you didn't worship - or idolize - his every philosophy, you were trash and the expectation was for you to vanish from reality, even if it meant the cult had to bother with dirtying their hands. Loved ones, vengeful associates and authority that learn of these offings served as 'bonus points' by the exact same standard. It seemed like it was rigorously following a poetic template, but that only deepened the sense of a totalitarian, uber-controlling psychosis that anyone and everyone that defied them were immediately lambs for the slaughter ON SIGHT. They didn't even have to go Rambo on anyone - the show as it was amplified this setup on a more diabolical level. In short, NOT following the script was just the excuse Carroll needed to make all his enemies squirm (and if he was lucky, wish for the cult to kill them - probably a secondary 'poetic justice' Caroll's eyes.)
At least, it was how it played out to me.

And my dad and I were discussing this but I have to wonder if Joe Carroll is really dead. They said he was but with shows like that, I wonder...

I don't believe it, I just don't. I think he's alive, somehow.
But then again, you never know. That's probably what they /want/ the audience to think. :/
