Description
Finally a chance to use my 10-stop filter. The clouds were very pretty so I decided to try to show the stregth of the wind by motion blurring them in a 30 second exposure.Related content

Thanks, this was actually quite an average sunset, though there were a few nice clouds. Everything changed with the motion blur though.

'n' in strength Alex.. looks a bit sloppy well blatantly inspired by my recent silhouette images this is a good attempt
... seriously the cloud motion works superbly with the wind beaten shape of the tree, it adds a certain vibrancy to a superb minimal silhouette. What time of day did you take this?

I've been meaning to comment for days, sorry it took me so long.
Anyways....
I absolutely love the overall softness and flow in this photo. The blurriness from the slow exposure, plus the subtle, pastel colors make for a great background. You also maintained a great silhouette and the tree is a great subject...good idea here and excellent execution

yeah, I am finding this concept in my head more and more now, in fact sometimes I will find a composition and think "now what can I get rid of". I am trying to make my photography more focussed. Thanks

Awesome, the colors are really great! Composed perfectly, keeping a lot of the sky was a good idea. And that's the same tree as in Time, isn't it?

yes it is and the same tree in Late in the Day :[link]
Its a favourite subject of mine and a subject I always fall back on if I am in the area and cant get to a different subject in time as in this case. Thanks

I ordered it via Robert White [link] T_ID=193
They are made to order though. I waited a couple of months for mine but it was worth it, its a great addition to my camera bag.
Thanks

Excellent graphical work Alex. I like the motion in the clouds, it offers a subtle hint as to how the trees form become so windswept.
