Description
SOLD! But prints are still available.Sharpie and Acrylic Paint on Canvas
11x14 inches
Better photo and I think I'm all finished with it now.
I was aiming for a Futurist look, like Umberto Boccioni's "Charge of the Lancers".
Normally for figure drawing in my class, we do some minute long and 30 second poses for gesture drawing. Then we spend the rest of class (around 2 hours) with a long pose. Usually it's supposed to be in charcoal, but I'm in the second level for the class, so I just do what I want.

You have a a very different Picasso-esque style in this piece, which is nice to see in this day and age. You captured the forms gracefully, and I especially like how you had them each doing their own thing, which keeps the piece interesting. The eye never tires of looking at the piece.
What really adds to the strength is the splashes of blue, which compliments the tarnished bronze overtone of the figures, and adds a depth especially. Added with the black cross hatching, you have a well rounded piece both in depth and in style.
I look forward to seeing what else you have to offer, for I am very impressed!

I adore the cool, almost industrial tone to this piece, which is sort of odd considering the subject is a woman. Very interesting. I likes.
