Description
FINISHED!Here is the WIP [link]
Well here is the final of my very first vector image of my Discord sketch for you guys! I simply did a bit of some cleaning up and redoing a few lines and junk since last time, I'm not gonna bore you with any details. Unfortunately there was no critiquing for this from the classmates, online or personal, so I would love for you guys to critique if you can, especially you vector artists out there.
This is free for anyone to use for wallpapers and junk, just be sure to credit me and link me your pic, I'd love to see it.
MLP (c) Hasbro
FiM (c) Lauren Faust
EDIT: Fixed his closest dragon toenail. The line tapering style I used caused the corners to jut out at the end in case no one noticed and I also moved the nail down a bit to go in line with the foot.
EDIT: Ok, he's completely fixed now, end of story.

Well, I do have much to learn about Illustrator still. One thing I still gotta figure out is how to taper lines better like the one line going through the elbow of his arm that's holding the chocolate milk.

I still think it's perfect :3 2 reasons. 1: I could never make a pic like that. 2: I could never make a pic like that and then color it and line it on the pc.

Well if you learn how to do vector artwork in Illustrator someday, it might be possible!

If this is a vector, could you release the SVG of it instead? Being infinitely scalable seems pretty awesome (though PNG is my favorite non-vector format)

AleximusPrime In reply to naan21 [2014-05-23 13:52:33 +0000 UTC]
No because then people will re-edit it and I don't want that, I just want people to be able to use the flat PNG.

Ah okay, understandable. Though a flat bitmapped image isn't exactly immune from editing either.
In any case my question was a technical one anyhow, vectors are a neat thing for me.
Anyways, I gotcha, and also since I didn't state this in my first comment, this is a really good rendering of Discord! Very clean and the details are nice/spot on!

No but at least when people DO edit it it's obvious who the original artist was.
Thanks, even though I got some things wrong like his lion arm placement and his eyes...

That is a recolor which I do NOT permit anyone to do to my art.Β Take it down or I will report it.

Um......thanks but you didn't have to retrace it, all you had to do was copy an paste.

Skittles91k In reply to AleximusPrime [2012-08-09 22:51:30 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I tried that, but it looked really pixely and blurry and it just didn't look good, so I just traced it

You must have done something to cause it to go all blurry like you said cuz it's the opposite. I made that thing in Illustrator and it looks fine on my computer...
