Very nice! It would be cool to have her grab a treasure or something at the end of the level to complete it.

The graphics and music are quite impressive (and believe me, finding a good jungle theme is harder than one would think). Maybe have a walk cycle rather than have her run all the time. That way players can take caution when necessary. This also allows for the inclusion for a dash command similar to those found in the Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country series. Another suggestion would be the the modifying the height of the jump depending on the length of time the player holds the Up arrow key (again, reminescent of Mario World). But you probably already know these things...Best of luck! Can't wait to see the final product!

(P.S., could you maybe set the music continue rather than start over every time you die? That's always been one of my mood-killing pet peeves...)

Not bad. If Do's jumps are going to remain so large and floaty, you should probably add a little wing flapping animation.

Very well done the graphics are stunning. The only thing that irritated me is not being to jump when you slide off an edge. You have to make sure you stop at the very edge then jump.

Average framerate of 56.5 on a high-end Dell laptop, never dipping below 45.0.

Also - and this needs saying - it's UTTERLY FREAKIN' BEAUTIFUL. I mean, seriously. I've no idea what possessed you to make Daring Do a higher resolution than in the show itself (!), but I'm kinda glad you did.

58-60 FPS on a gaming rig. 64 bit Win7, GTX 470 vid card. Nothing I did seemed to take it below 58. Also saw the bug that allows enemy corpses to kill you if you run into either end.

Have the same framerate minus the gfx card you got.

Wow, this is pretty impressive so far. Here's a few thoughts:

- It runs very smoothly, and that's good. Everything in that department seems to be in good working order.
- Graphics are pretty so far. It feels like it's out of the SNES era, and I really like that. I do hope you're planning on giving Daring-Do some extra animations (idle and KO'd come to mind) but so far it's looking awesome.
- Controls are pretty good, though I'd recommend trying to set up a variable jump height (that is, jump higher when you hold the button longer). In the end this is really just a design decision, as you can work with it either way, but I think platformers usually play better when this is implemented.

Really solid work so far. Can't wait to see more of it!

I played through a few times. I'm not sure what kind of feedback you're looking for, but everything seemed to work pretty well. The controls were responsive and nothing seemed to hang up anywhere for me.
I like the music too.

Only suggestion I have is making it to where you can also use the "w" "a" "s" "d" keys as well.

This is awesome, and the art is beautiful. The only thing I might suggest is to change the fall speed. It may feel more natural to accelerate the longer you fall until you reach a max speed. Also, when you change directions in midair, Daring continues facing forward, which seemed a bit off. Not bad, just off.

Other than those two points, awesome. *Follows so I can keep up with the game's progress*

Fuckin' amazin'!

Technical: 60fps dipping occasionally to the low 50s for a microsecond, though I don't suppose the engine's being taxed heavily at this point.

Music: Beautiful music! I'm tempted to ask if you'd be looking for help with music writing... I don't have great equipment but I can do tribal beats awful well.

More Technical: Any plans to add controller input support? This would come off great with more item and action options, like powerups and usables.

Design: Nice level design; I noted several places where items could be tucked away and/or hidden as little easter eggs or powerup items.

Overall: Looking forward to seeing more, just like I am with Fighting is Magic and the Kart game.

One thing I love about this is the atmosphere created in game, the detail of the background as well as the game as a whole. Totally reminded of another platformer from days gone by; William and Sly ([link] ).

I know this is early days, but I'd love to see a more dynamic character (the mane and tail need to flow in the wind).

I can just see this evolving into something great.

my comment: - physics are amazing
- background song is perfect
- jumping sound is quite cute
- daring do died on the sides of the enemy's corpse
- daring do is faster than the enemy which makes the game less challenging
- the artwork is the one that make me so amazed
overall this game is awesome
great job

i agree with strangemodule on the door topic. also 60 frames constant for me with this. its fantastic. jumping is very smooth. hit boxes for enemies are apparent and easy to see where you will and wont get hit. sounds are great and are set off in correct time. BGM is fitting and enjoyable. i cant wait to see the finished product.

also im throwing money at the computer but nothing seems to be happening.

Really nice work dude. The graphics are better then some some finished releases I've seen with both the background and the sprite animation looking very crisp/clean. The BGM is also solid and not to repetitive.
Couple of bugs still too iron out (I jumped over the third gap only to have my sprite shoot straight up in the air off the top of the screen) but not as many as I would expect from an Alpha version, especially if this is a solo project. Keep up the good work. Will keep an eye on this.

Good graphics and music!

Just one thing: If you are going to have doors the player needs to walk through, I strongly reconsider making jump a different button than the Up Arrow. Otherwise, it might be really confusing.

Not bad however I did see a few problems.

First: Daring Doo is clipping though the walls
Second: she does not turn around when in the air
and Third: sometimes after you stomp on the cats you still die from the body that's left after a few seconds

Nice test level, but she jumps way, way too high - I have to wait a few seconds for her to land on the enemies. You could add in a double jump so she could make it into higher places.
