This Picture was taken in one of the Tunnels on the street from the Mountain Pass of Encumeada (1007 m) with its rolling mists to the grassy hills of the high plateau "Paúl da Serra" (est.1500 m) starting at Bica da Cana.

Madeira is an Island with many tunnels (over 150 as it was told to me) and bridges,...
Where common pepole from other countries not even think of climbing, the madeirians build roads

The yellow Flowers you see is Gorse (Ulex) [Ginster in Deutsch] its all over there on the mountains, its a very common plant on the higher places of Madeira.
