Hello! For those interested in how a comic page gets made, here is a look at my art process (using my latest Senya page as an example). It starts with a super loose thumbnail drawing where all the action is plotted out, and then the panels are composed together. I did a few design sketches of Emma's village before I settled on a final look. The next step is to blow up the rough panels and print them out, with one or two on a page. I use a purple animation pencil to draw the final panels, which are scanned back into the computer and cleaned up. After that I added flat colours and text, followed by the fun part... the painting!

Thanks! I wanted to have a large golden statue of the Empire's queen placed in the center of the town (by the imperials), but I realized I have not designed her yet.

Is the Queen Arian's mother or grandmother? Maybe the Queen's statues and official portraits look benevolent at first glance, but have disturbing eyes that seem to follow you ala the Big Brother posters in "1984."

That sounds cool. I like the idea that they would force a giant statue in the middle of every town, forcing the people to stare at the queen every day.

Thanks! And maybe do more than stare back at them. Heck, when I visited the Haunted House at Disney World eons ago, they had light tricks that could make marble busts look like they're singing. Given the Empire's high tech, maybe the Queen's statues can 'come to life' on special occasions.

That would be cool... giving royal proclamations and reminding her subject how lucky they are to have her as their ruler!

It took this page process to realize that when Emma is being shaved she is also nude. oO

Poor Emma... The empire's whole system is designed to break people down and rebuild them as soldiers.
