OMG! SURPRIZES! Okay, I kind of broke taboo by unveiling the two 'off the screen' hidden characters before the Third Party Four who are still hidden away for now, but there's a kick in the face, Mr.Game and Watch, and the Laughing Dog are the two last surprises. There's everyone else I'm excited about seeing, Stafy, Jill, Alexandra, Tingle, Little Mac, etc.Sadly, I didn't have time to fit EVERYONE I wanted onto this (which is why I'm still hoping for somewhere around 50 in the real Smash Bros... I still want to put Andy in...)
Now as for 'reasons' behind each character, here's the Occam's Razor of the whole thing. I picked characters who I thought would be fun and unique to play as. For each different character I want to see a unique fighting experience behind each one! None of this "he's almost the other guy" stuff. And ay, even though that's WW Link's Appearance, I still call it Young Link... who happened to steal WW Link's clothes and hairstyle

And seriously, ever played Chibi-Robo's games? By the end of his games he has legions of enemies lying in ruin before him. He also alters the laws of time and space.

Seriously, you need to play a bigger variety of games. Not all these kidsy stuff. If you haven't looked at the REAL brawl character line up, you do not know good games. Chibi Robo may be an okay game, but don't you think your decision needs hard core characters- like Shadow the Hedgehog? I mean, SNAKE is in the game, man! If there is an army infiltrator dude in the line up, it would be bad to add little servant robots and raccoon store clerks.

Regardless, Tom Nook is confirmed for Smash Brothers Fisticuffs, and I have a sensational (and completely appropriate) moveset for him, and for Chibi as well!

If I would, I'd suggest playing "Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn". If you can't find anybody to fight from that game, then you really are hopeless.

Dude! I've played Metal Gear Solid 2, IT DOES NOT SUCK! Snake is awesome, and you know it!
...um...fisticuffs? Tom Nook is Animal Crossing. Bad Idea to add an animal crossing character for SSB! I was mad enough when they made it a stage!

I've played several Fire Emblem games. And my copy of Tingle's Rupeeland is from Japan.
Animal Crossing is a great game, and I've compacted the experience into a playable character.
Tom Nook will support 'selective' play style. his Down special will pop open an AC style menu, showing five different tools (Shovel, Fishing Rod, Axe, Slingshot, and Bug Net) which you can then chose from. The choice you make affects his Up and Side special, some objects have better recovery than others, some doing more damage, etc. (For example, the Slingshot gives you an upward and sideways projectile, but no special recovery.)
For his basic recovery, Nook can do the classic tanuki tail-wag to slow his descent (not multi-jumps like Kirby or Pit, but being able to tap the brakes in mid-air.)
Nook's standard Special will have him hurling little green leaves which will randomly transform into furniture mid-air, the amount of damage dealt dependent on the kind of furniture they turn into. I.E., a pillow won't pack much punch, but a stove will.
Other than that, his moves involve punches, kicks, tailswipes, and whacking people with a sack of bells.
And yes, Smash Brothers Fisticuffs is the game I'm programming. You can see some screenshots from what I've got done elsewhere in my gallery.

Ay. Albeit, sadly, Chibi's just a trophy that I've seen, and Ray 01 is an Assist Trophy (he shows up and blasts your enemies repeatedly.)

Yeah as soon as you sent me that comment previously I was already dashing at Mach 2 to Youtube and searched it up. Turns out, you were right. Unfortunately as an Assist Trophy, however good news is his attack "Move" is one of the best. I mean even jumping that attack is hard enough. I reckon Isaac is probably one of the best assist trophies in Brawl. Still, if they ever create a 4th game, let him be a character oh god please!

I like to think that those who are an A.T. in Brawl will be playable in SSB4. Stafy, Isaac, Little Mac, Jill and her Drill Dozer, Ray mk I, etc.

Ay. Although I'd prefer him to not use his sword as much as his magic, psynergy and djinni attacks.
I like the idea of his smash attacks being big huge glowy hands. Same for his grabs.
Also I have to say, Lip from Panel de Pon and Jill from Drill Dozer would not only be excellent characters, but they'd add to Smash Brothers's amazingly small female population.

Ay, but I mean he shouldn't rely on his sword as much as a character like Link or Marth, instead his sword should only be for a few attacks and leave Psynergy (or maybe even an alternate weapon like an axe or a mace) as the others.
