I recently read "The Witch's Heart" by Genevieve Gornichec and it was great!I was inspired by the author's description of Hel from Norse mythology, specifically this:
"Hel whipped aside the bottom of her dress to show her legs: merely bone now, with blue-gray flesh still clinging in some places..."
