here shoulder blade sticks out too much... making her look like she's older than she really is... ^_^ I luv it though! the rest anyway...

I never thought of shoulder blades like that, but I'm pretty sure I drew it on purpose because she has that look as she's older. It just makes sense to me that it'd be integrated into her body structure as a teenager. But maybe making it less pronounced would achieve a younger look. I"ll have to try it. Thanks!

I always thought their interactions would be really sweet, since I imagine that Glinda's used to spontaneous displays of affection and Elphaba's the type to just be rigid and "...What. Are. You. Doing?"

The expressions/body language (as I think many before me have pointed out) are absolutely spot on. Elphaba's completely "@_@ There's a person clinging to me. Eeeeeeeep." while Glinda's just "*sniffle* *cling*"
So now that I've said the same thing a couple times...(sorry, it's a little after one in the morning where I am and I'm not thinking straight.)

I'd imagine that she is fun to draw--all angles and bones and sharp pointyness. Plus she has glasses! What's not to love about glasses?

I've worn glasses since I was BORN. I forget about them most of the time, but I hate knowing I'm horrifically near-blind if I take them off. I'm starting to wear contacts now, but they are thick because my vision sucks. x_x

Do yourself a favor, go to an art supply store and pick up a Tortilin (a paper pencil looking thing) I use it on almost all of my pencil sketchs, it's a blender,( It does stuff like skin tone and blush great if you use it right)...and it is my best friend *hugs tortilin*
Anyway, about the pic...The body language is excellent...and I love the shading

Hmm. See, I've been told to do that before, but my friend (who wants to be a concept artist) insists that if you have to use one you aren't shading correctly. It might be benifitial to me seeing as how I love to shade darker, but I'm not entirely sure. *looks around to make friend isn't listening*
I'm not sure if you've ever seen her work. You might enjoy it, too! She's [link] She has some Wicked art, but hasn't put any up yet to my knowledge. I'll urge her to do so. Her shading is also mexcellent!
But I'll take what you say into consideration and check the product out.

I really love the way you draw Elphaba in general. Kisses for not making her all round-faced and pretty and Idina-ey. And her expression here is perfect... her rigid stoicism: shocked, but determined not to show it.
And I love how you captured Glinda's body language, the hunch to the shoulders, that desperation. Even without seeing her face, you can tell exactly what she's feeling.

I've been focusing as much as I can on body language. Before I focused solely on the face, so I'm glad that it's coming through.

The wind movement shown in the dresses is very nice. Elphie looks downright surprised. Very cool.

Thank you! The wind movement was totally spur of the moment. For a while it kind of looked like Elphaba had been pushed back by the onsalaught of Galinda's upset-ness, but then I just decided to make it windy. Hell, its always fun to draw things suspended in air. Like hair.
