Very pretty shot, I love the bird's bright blue and red colours in its face.
Cassowaries are the living proof that birds evolved from dinosaurs.

I always wonder how blue color is attained in skin material. Is it a structural color there too? I thought blue only can be structural (not based on pigments but light fractions on the layers of a material) or caused by Thyndall's effect (like in the sky or the human iris). I couldn't find an answer yet.
Anyhow, that birds is gorgeous! I only saw skeletons in museums yet. Great photo

I love these birds! I used to work with them when I was a volunteer. The female was very aggressive, but the male was fairly sweet. They're so beautiful, and this one has a very beautiful crest!

I was a volunteer, maybe you could check out and see if your nearest zoo allows volunteers too! You get to do all sorts of fun things, and not fun things, but it's a great experience.

Ah, yeah, our ZOOs don't do that. I just know this summer they were trying to find someone to feed animals and speak about them. I really wanted to do that, but I have many responsibilities in scout and school so I have no time to do real job...

That would have been fun, but I totally understand being too busy with school and stuff.
That's too bad your zoos don't do that, it's a great opportunity for everyone involved. Maybe someday it'll change? I hope so.
