Description
To follow up the Mecha-Godzilla piece, I decided to do another all-digital piece (well, pieces), trying my hand at drawing the Godzilla it countered.I originally just did the Inferno piece, but then I realized which Godzilla I was making here, so I began to make the Thunderstorm background setting. Since I couldn't decide which one was better, I decided to keep both.

In a way, this picture encapsulates how Godzilla turned from villain to hero. I remember they used thunder to signal Godzilla ' s arrival in Terror of MechaGodzilla;it was, besides his glowing spines, the only way you knew Godzilla was there.

What I love about your multiple versions, man? It's genuinely hard to know which I would choose if I could only pick one to put on the wall. That doesn't happen very often. They're both just so perfect.

Looks great. I love the changed background on each. And the highlights....so nicely done. Makes each piece feel so organic Did you use the 85 Goji as a bases for this design?

Well, I mostly used '73/'74 Goji for a reference, but I guess a bit of '85 crept in there.
(Most of the focus on this piece was directed toward the lighting and shading than the character design, anyway, relatively speaking. )

Great details on the face of the Godzilla from Godzilla vs MechaG, both versions look very intense and dramatic
