The Trendmasters commemorative art series continues with arguably the most idiotic and ludicrous concept greatest toys to ever emerge from the Godzilla franchise - the Power-Ups!As you can see, I’m sticking to a single palette for these, and here I went with the Supercharged Godzilla (black with blue fins), since that’s the one I have. Yeah, there was a “regular” version (green with silver fins) and there are versions with blue projectiles instead of red ones, but I’m just sticking with one for these.
MAYBE I’ll do variations in print form.
I also originally wanted to make the Power-Up art as scenes (i.e. Godzilla/Mecha-G in a city; Rodan/Mecha-Ghidorah in the sky), but I felt like sticking to the individual profiles.
I’m also pretty happy with how that shine effect turned out.

Looks like the old 1987-1988 Dino Riders toys concept. I had began collecting Dino toys and figures after seeing Jurassic Park and the newer 90s era Godzilla/Gamera films. Today I keep cursing myself for NOT buying any of the Dino Riders Dinos or as I call em "Guns'N'Lizards"

Nice work. I guess if you wanna try and explain this ridiculous concept, perhaps someone at G-Force HeadQuarters decided it'd be a good idea to give all the kaiju attachable "power-up" armor and weapon mounts. Or I guess aliens whom are controlling them have given them attachable weapon and armor mounts to cause even greater destruction as they wipe out human civilization so they may take over the planet. Or just because they thought it'd look cool.

As you mentioned, it's probably the stupidest idea ever to come from a licensed piece of Godzilla merchandise (except maybe Battle Soccer and Girly Yaya), but you make it look downright badass. Kind of looks like what a Japanese version of Cyber-Godzilla from GTS would look like.

Yeah, in a narrative sense, it wouldn't work because Godzilla would never wear this stuff willingly. Maybe if it was a case of aliens controlling him, but even then...
But as a toy, it's a lotta fun.
