I understand people, rarely do I understand art that only needs to be understood.
I personally have trained myself to see the people first, then art, that's why I put the people first above art. It's more fair to me. I don't take the meter of good art- bad art, I take the meter of good person - less good person.

Go yiff in a pile you Fucken Nazi[ I mean this in a reply to calling me a "fur", I don't consider my self completely Furry, i think they are given a bad rep., just a name given to this belief and concept. In simple terms, its not at you it's at your idea] By the Bmperor, NO! Thine shallt not leave.
You probably miss-interpreted it. I read all your answers and opinions and i do agree with some of them.but what I think she's saying is this is just making a joke on the side that people make interesting decisions to certain problems that make as much sense as eating a cardboard box, and that the art expresses more of what the person fells or thinks.

i don't believe that's really what she means but LET'S JUST SAY THAT IT IS.
Sometimes it doesn't matter what the artist intends for the piece but instead what the viewer perceives it as. In this case most people are using this as an excuse to affirm their anti-socialistic tendencies, and are exploiting this piece in this such way. Sometimes i have seen the artist siding with these peoples' views and this is just making it worse. Not only that but some of the situations the artist has handled in these comments doesn't exactly tell me that the artist is intelligent enough (or at least mature enough) to be making the kind of statement you're proposing.
By the way, i like people like you, who actually do their research before they comment. It's very nice to see a glimmer of intelligence in this site. If you had raged at me i probably would've laughed and you would've been digging yourself into a pit but now we have an interesting discussion. This is great.

Yeah, good point, it is interpretation, but if you can get an artwork to get people to kind of nudge their thoughts along the lines that you anticipated the message, compilation, concept, or piece to give, then you are one damn good artist.
For research, I do do a bit before i say anything. I look into thing that interests me, or peak my imagination and gather knowledge of it to see if its worth it, something I like, something not worth it, just doesn't interests me, etc, etc. I have the free time, and the broad imagination for it. It kinda gets me a bit peeved when I talk about something that no one knows what it is. Awkward in other aspects.

I have really only recently grown an appreciation for people who do their research. It comes from a protest rally in which i heard extremely good arguments against the rally and about why they should strive for a different, but similar law than the one they were trying to rally for. The intelligent people were all shut down by multiple statements saying the same things. Prostitution is bad, prostitution is a sin, no woman enjoys this, etc. This is when it really hit home how many people are willing to just act without thinking and support something that sounds good even if it isn't. This is why i really like you.
And yes, i agree with your idea of interpretation in artwork. Personally i prefer to make pieces that don't require too much interpretation, that just basically look amazing and make you think while still keeping you in exactly the same mindset as me, no drifting away.

I learned that when i was at the Areria campus during the occupy movement. some people were there with no real motivation, only to conform with the rest of the crowd, unaware of what the gathering was truly about.
For the art, i do the same, but haven't made very many so far. Just sketches and ideas. :j

Many use art as a form of self-expression, even if all they're doing are character designs. In this sense, it's a distilled form of emotion and thought. Thus, trying to get the same thing straight from a person will not be as easy. It's still jumbled up (unless that person's art is their eloquence, in which case, it'll be easy to understand them).

I guess artists who are more socially awkward would understand this better.
But the statement also depends on what kind of art or what kind of people? There's a lot to be left to ponder about with this statement.
But if the statement said, "I don't understand people (Behaviour-wise) only art(inner expression)" then I'd have to agree with this statement, as I'm a little awkward with people in real life as well. Instead of going out to the mall I'd rather stay at home and draw. : D
But then again there's also 'the art of people' Ehehe

i've noticed that all the people who agree with this are terrible artists striving to make it out of their parent's basement and showing people that furry inflation fetish drawings are "TRUE ART-DESU" and all the real artists see this for the bullshit it is

lol im not a striving artists im a terrible one i don't live in my parents basement and the reason i think its true is because to me if you showed me art i would get it a lot better then people thats why i'm TRYING to be a artists but im cool with whatever job makes since to do but really i don't want my job to draw art all the time :\ i rather work out of home then be stuck in it all the time just drawing don't get me wrong i love drawing but i don't want to make a profession out of it even if i was good and the real artist who see this for bullshit truly don't get it then.

Now you're just making excuses.
While it's true to say no one can truly understand you because they haven't been in the places you've been at the times you've been in the situations you've been in, that doesn't mean that no one will ever understand you. That just means that you've got a normal, unique life that you're unwilling to share with other people because you feel people don't understand you. What you need to do is work at the relationship until people actually start to get a general idea of your personality, and that's about the time you could label them as best friends.
"I am a unique and beautiful snowflake that no one understands" is a horrible excuse to be anti-social

I agree with you what you say it's true, and i have a best friend and a company.
You see the reason why i put this comment on this stamp it's beause i think it complets it.It's not the fact that i am always like "OMG nobody understands!!"and stuff like this. Some times when i am sad or disapointed from some humans i think the Not positive side of life, and when i was writting this i was in this mood you see.
if you want you belive me,if you don't want you don't believe me,i am just telling you the truth.

Your emotions don't rule your life and if you're going to change your opinion so rapidly as a result of them then you don't really have that much credibility. Just because you get depressed over humanity for a bit doesn't mean you lose complete faith in them, it just causes you to question it and think about it which may lead to a stronger opinion.
So try and stick to an opinion

lol i love how you throw the word "gay" at me like homosexuality is supposed to be some form of insult (which it is if you're a preteen boy), and then tell me to contradict my sexuality and have sex with my mom.
Your insults, they are very confusing.

art is the expression and representations of a PERSON'S feelings. art itself is an independant concept, true. but it still must be expressed by an individual's mindset

So you can't really understand art if you cannot understand the people/artists who made it.
You can't have a 100% true interpretation of an art work, sure, but the better you know the person and his/her background/preferences, the better you can understand the reason/the meaning of his/her work.
