Description
It's currently the wet season in sub Sahara Africa and male spear-horn gigantotheres are beginning to commence the fighting ritual. Males size each other up, shoving each other with their strong shoulders. The one who wins has the right to mate.
Out of nowhere a young rowdy male ( around 20 years old ) recklessly decided to challenge the much bigger bull ( 50 years old ). After several minutes of shoving, the bull stabbed the young male in the side between his ribs. Although severely bleeding, he survived the fight. But the older gigantothere thoroughly put him in his place.
Wounded, tired, and humiliated, he walks away with a trail of blood behind him.
The herd leaves the young stranger; as they know that the scent of blood will attract predators.
As the herd runs off, the bull male watches at a distant with blood covered his horn.
Several minutes later a pride of kaizari appeared. They spotted the weak gigantothere a half a mile away, and then they go for the kill.
6 against 1, the kaizari begin to take turns slashing and biting the gigantothere. Two of them are holding on while trying to subdue it. One is on the back biting the thick fatty hump while the other is biting and slashing the throat of the young gigantothere. Unfortunately one of the six kaizari was killed when it was trying to jump on the gigantothere's face.
Confused, tired, and weak; the young gigantothere tries to call for help. However no one was going to save him. While he was overwhelmed by the kaizari, he tripped on a dead tree and fell to the ground. Unable to get up, he's now an easy meal for these fearless predators. One of the kaizari produced a roar; letting the rest of the pride know that food is available. As the the young gigantothere bleeds to death on the earth, he took his final breath and his life ended there.
These predators don't hunt fully grown gigantotheres. However this individual wasn't fully grown and it was severely wounded. Out of all the animals that the kaizari eats, the gigantotherium is the most difficult animal to kill.
