Description
Another commission of a Throne of Glass character. I tried to go bolder in regards to contrast this time and I really like how it turned out. I'm still practicing a lot in Photoshop and hope to be able to upload a complete PS painting soon. This was still done in ProcreateRelated content

Very beautiful, she looks so smooth and ethereal, her skin seems to be made of pearl shine

She's beautiful.Β
I love the lighting very much, skin texture (as always), also I've got a feeling you really improved in drawing hands. Β
And good luck with PS. Procreate is waiting for me to learn it too someday, but i'm still not convinced of it.

Thanks so much! Yeah I also really like how this hand came out. I must force myself to draw them more often.. but Iβm so lazy ^^ so youβve tried Procreate already? I have to say that I hated Photoshop in the beginning just because I wasnβt used to the brush engine But I can imagine that it is hard to work with a less complex program such a Procreate once you had all the options in Photoshop. Upgrading is probably easier than restricting oneself.Β

I've tried it once on my friend computer for like 5 minutes. And yeah, the brush engine in PS is something I really love, and I don't know if I cant handle a software without liquify option. Liquify is an ass-saving for idiots like me, who are always like "Oh well I'm working on this piece 10th hour and I suddenly realize I drew the second eye twice as big as the first one 8 hours ago"

oh Procreate now has Liquify! I think they added it in summer. The time it takes to finish a painting has probably decreased by 40% since then Also the warp tool and clipping masks were added - my best friends ^^ Though liquify in Procreate doesn't have the face detection sliders... but it is much much much more faster than it is in Photoshop

Whoa! Procreate has Liquify Β It's time to start saving money for my beloved iPad.
And I didn't know there's a face detection in PS!Β Β I'm still using quite old version (CS6) so I guess I'm not up to date.Β

oh then Liquify in Procreate won't make any difference to you! So you have a version you actually own and not a subscription based?
The face detection is awesome.. there is a slider that can make the eyes larger or smaller... or even just one eye! It's magic, really. Especially since I had to spend my first year of painting without any liquify at all ^^ It's such a time saver.

Yeah, it's not subscription based, but it's quite old one. I think I'm gonna switch to a subscription model soon, I really wanna try out all those new features.

They're definitely nice! But it's also nice to own your own PS version

It never ceases to amaze me how much you improve in such a short period of time. All your hard work is paying off with interest . Lovely portrait as always
. What helps you come up with positions of the subject? Is it the model, your imagination, or both? Also, I'm having random thoughts of glass clouds....that would be pretty scary...raining sand
....or glass shards...

Thanks so much!! Actually itβs just me scrolling through Pinterest and trying to find a model that fits my vision of the character. I mean they always look completely different in the end since Iβm so bad at capturing likeness (and often I donβt even want that) but I use them as a starting point. Sometimes I combine different models into one, depending on what I need
Glass clouds? Yeah I guess that wouldnβt be a good thing ^^ I mean anything falling from the sky that isnβt water would be quite the disaster

Always my friend . Ah, that makes sense. Hmm do you find it difficult to find the pose you want in one picture?
Lol good point XD.
