Description
Is she offering or asking????Decided I'd update Falindrah's look and put detail in the armor for once and refine her facial details (I like her nose like this quite a bit). I think I finally nailed the look I was going for. Gotta do that dreadnaught. Will I ever put this level of detail in her armor again? UHHHHHHHH
I'm kinda proud of this one, it actually came out plated looking and has some weight to it maybe? I don't think it looks as flimsy as most of the stuff I put out. Also I really just wanted to draw a slice of cake and didn't know what to do with her right arm.
I don't even have this character on a real RP server right now, but maybe this'll be a nice reference if I do
*****I'd really love feedback on this piece in particular! I know it's not what I normally do, but critique and such would be really appreciate too!******
Should I do more armory-less pandery stuff?
Sorry for the long description!

You can have the super-fattening cake. I'm going to feel up those magnificent ears in the meantime.
I believe simplicity is the key towards making a character easily recognized. Such can be found with characters like Superman or Spider-Man, designs that are bare minimum but have a distinguishing feature that sets them apart from a crowd. Having said that, you've done a great job on the armor here, the shoulder pads being the obvious highlight. Her skin and ears in contrast to the dark armor helps in keeping her character in focus and not having the detail detract from her presence.
It also depends on what a scene calls for, drama may add more detail for effect while comedy requires less.Β

That's a good course of action. Elf ears are good luck, I think.
I try to keep simplicity in tact most of the time, really. I tried that here too, despite going into detail. I have a new minimal design for her that cuts out most of the excessive stuff/stays pretty casual, and I'll probably just end up doing that for most everything with this character.Β I ammm glad the colors paid off; I actually -did- intend on that for once.
Thanks for the feedback! It's really appreciated!Β

golly how cool!!!
I like the definition you've given to individual curves One thing i'd suggest is altering the outline to accommodate the shapes on the armour cos as-is it sort of feels a bit like a bump-mapped texture if you know what i mean?
A defined light source can also help overcome that but that's a lot of extra work and probably isn't necessary.

Oh hey, that's actually really helpful!
I know especially when I was lining it that something felt really off? And I think I can see what you're talkin about, I know something was just bothering me about it, and I'm pretty sure that's what it is now. Everything kinda feels like it's blending together a bit too much because of it
I'm gonna have to play around more with lights and lining in general with that in mind!
Thanks a ton for the feedback, it's really appreciated! c:

It looks really good to me, specially the armour. The skulls looks terrific and I like pretty much the color you used for the inside.Β

Ohhh, ty ty! That's what I was trying the hardest on in this one, I think. The shoulder area all around

Honestly Alt, I think you get great on the piece at hand.
I don't blame ya if don't ever want to put that level of detail in the armor ever again cause I know from experience, that while blizz's armor designs tend to be badass that badass is derived from extremely tiny detail heavy that don't seem like much but it all comes together to make the final product...and you don't notice these tiny details until you sit down and try replicating the armor look yourself and you realize "oh god what have I gotten myself into?"
The only small feedback I might want to leave is that, I'm not sure if it's the angle, but your night warrior is either flat chested or you might need to work on the breastplate so it encases her right breast region a little better giving it more of a rounder look around her right breast area cause it looks a little too...pointy for the lack of a better word.

Ohhh, thank you thank you!
I actually really love the little details and such, and even if this is ollllldddd armor, it's still full of it. Especially when the models in game are still flat as hell and you have to kinda, emboss them into real plates and what have. Like the little etches and swirls in the dreadnaught bits kinda eluded me in the past. I'm still simplifying it in this one, lmao. It's still all in good fun though,Β Armor Sketch Practice Β Stuff like this is my -favorite- stuff to doodle. So I love the practice
Ahhhh, I actually didn't even notice this! Even after doing like 2 sets of sketches underneath the final bit. I was trying to go for a more practical plated look that streamlines the chest and breasts, but it looooks like I went overboard.Β Practical fem armor Β Stuff like this is what I aspire to capture. I'm not a fan of boobplates and such really, I try to avoid slipping into those habits. That's off topic, but yeahhhh, I think I compressed her chest too much here! -I really really appreciate you taking the time to point it out! I woulda missed it otherwise c:
