Description
Allium stellatum, the Prairie Onion or Autumn Onion, is native to prairies and dry hills from Ontario, Michigan and Illinois to Saskatchewan, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Texas. The bulbs are edible.The species name 'stellatum' means star-like, and in fact, those little pink flower stars are amazing.

Yes, many Alliums are garden-worthy. Have you already read this older, but still interesting book about Alliums: [link] ? It is a very fine work, in my opinion.
