Description
We've got a lot of hellebores in our garden: wild forms, old and modern selections and hybrids (some of them with double flowers), and a couple of own seedlings, as well. Once established, most of them are vital growers and bloomers, even under trees. The first one (Helleborus niger 'Praecox') usually starts blooming in October, the next plants following around Christmas or little later (most of them in January), while the flowers of the late forms last until May. Details of a hellebore flower that is just open.

I've got a white one which I think is known as the 'Christmas flower'. It only started flowering last week. It seems to get later each year.

Indeed, this is a strange behaviour! Maybe it's not cold enough in your area, for this plant, to keep pace with the seasons?
Or it is an esoteric plant that follows the Tibetan moon calendar?
Thank you very much for the , Debbie!
