While I’m not completely sure whether Hillenburg approved of this before he passed (though I’m aware he knew about the third movie) I can’t really see this series lasting very long.
They tell you to ‘give it a chance’ but I mean, who exactly asked for this? It goes against Hillenburg’s original concept completely so I’d be surprised if he green-lit this in any way at all.
