This illustration has been over a year in the making x___x It's only now after I've gone back to studying aquatic anatomy and mermaids that I feel comfortable with the way this turned out.

Short story: A few years ago I started falling in love with slice of life webcomics. I'd already built up quite a list of webcomics to follow and on dA I came across SnaiLords when he was really getting into uploading his strips "Snailogy" (which I definitely recommend if you like silly, punny humor - and though 'Lords is very gender neutral with the strips he's got some awesome girl-power and guy-confident stuff). I was previously prone to great bouts of depression or confusion but I felt like part of the Angler Army. SnaiLords featured one of the AA member's comic strips:

and I liked the way the design was encorporated and wanted to try my own design of me as an angler fish mermaid (who is pulling along one of those red velvet cupcakes fancied by the Lord of the Angler Army baement). Ta da! Thank you to both SnaiLords and Azareea for the inspiration.

Might add color later...dunno. We'll see.
