A still life painting in oil on canvas."Vanitas" is a term meaning a meditation on vanity, or the impermanence of life. The apple is symbolic of the Holy Trinity and suggests the concept of original sin. Though the subject is somber, I want the painting to express the urgency of living now and taking nothing for granted.
