Rose Smith stepped off the plane and walked briskly to the luggage carousel where her bag eventually emerged from the carts and joined the other luggage clanking down the conveyer belt. She grasped the handle of her blue bag and carefully removed it from the pile of suitcases. With a sign of relief, she noted the bag was for once unharmed by the occasionally rough airport system. A voice called above the crowd, alerting her to a growing group of people near the main exit.
"Obertaurer Converence! If you're part of Royal Pirate Stable's Obertaurer conference, please come this way to the shuttle buses." A tall man with dark hair and a contagious smile beckoned people towards the exit. Rose jogged over to join them and listened as he began to call names from a clip board so people could begin boarding the buses. It took several minutes to reach the "S's" and when she heard "Smith, Rose" she hopped onto the thankfully heated bus and found a seat near the front.
Once everyone was called, the man stepped onto the bus and introduced himself as on of the many staff members of RPS. He assured many visitors that other buses would be back to catch those who had later planes. With that and other questions answered, they were off. Rose could barely contain her excitement. The countryside was absolutely beautiful and her camera was soon begging for a rest. She rummaged through her smaller bag and made sure the folder within contained all of the necessary Obertaurer related information. She was nothing if not organized - rebellious on occasion, but definitely organized.
Soon, they arrived at Royal Pirate Stables and were allowed some time to find their rooms before the conference started. As usual, Rose was one of the first into the great room and was able to choose a spot near the front. She spread her papers out for easy access and turned her ipod onto some low-key music to pass the time. When the room filled up, everyone conversed as if they knew each other. It made Rose feel a little left out. She'd heard of a great many people - they were legends to her - but being new and suddenly thrust into this position, she felt a little overwhelmed.
It wasn't very long before Lyo and Damon took the stage and had her hanging on every word. She took notes as thoroughly as possible and scratched a few extra notes onto the front page where small pictures of Somesmera's Obertaurer horses were taped. She was able to confirm that the three elder horses were still Obertaurer while the youngest, a recent purchase from Fallen Angel Stables, was considered a Warmblood OTX. As they continued to discuss coat patterns, Rose's eyes widened and she stifled a giggle. She reached into her purse and pulled out her cell phone. Lyo was standing off to the side, playing with a laser pointer -alternating between drawing hearts on a horse's rump and drawing shapes on people in the audience- and covertly answering text messages. Deciding she wanted to tease him over a sudden find, Rose typed quickly on the keypad and sent the message to his number which was listed on the cover page.

"Lyo, River seems to be related to you... twice!"

She watched as his phone buzzed in his hand and he looked at the message from an unknown number. A single eyebrow raised and his lips pursed in confusion. She figured it was vague enough to prompt some type of response. A smirk reached her lips as she watched him gaze into the crowd for an answer.
