I agree; I feel that the original image is much better. I feel that the final is a little over-saturated and harsh on the eyes.
Was this photo taken in RAW format? I believe you can get the same effect from editing in RAW. If not, I do feel that this is a good way of enhancing the colors, but I personally feel it's way over-saturated.
